Những từ nhận biết thì hiện tại tiếp diễn: các trạng từ thì hiện tại tiếp diễn và các động từ đặc biệt.

1. Trạng từ chỉ thời gian

Ví dụ:
 now: bây giờ
 right now: ngay bây giờ  It is raining now. (Trời đang mưa)
 at the moment: lúc này  I’m not working at the moment (Tôi đang không làm
 at present: hiện tại việc vào lúc này)

 at + giờ cụ thể (at 12 o’lock)

2. Trong câu có các động từ Ví dụ:

 Look! Watch! (Nhìn kìa!)  Look! The train is coming. (Nhìn kìa! tàu đang
 Listen! (Hãy nghe này!) đến)
 Keep silent! (Hãy im lặng!)  Listen! Someone is crying. (Nghe này! Ai đó
 Watch out! = Look out! (Coi chừng) đang khóc)
 Keep silent! The baby is sleeping. (Hãy im
lặng! Em bé đang ngủ)
+ Cách chia động từ thì hiện tại tiếp diễn V-ing
1. Với động từ tận cùng là MỘT chữ “e”

Ta bỏ “e” rồi thêm “-ing”. Ví dụ:

 write – writing
 type – typing
 come – coming

2. Với động từ có MỘT âm tiết, tận cùng là MỘT PHỤ ÂM, trước là MỘT NGUYÊN ÂM

Ta nhân đôi phụ âm cuối rồi thêm “-ing”.

Ví dụ: CHÚ Ý: Các trường hợp ngoại lệ:

 stop – stopping  begging – beginning

 get – getting  travel – travelling
 put – putting  prefer – preferring
 permit – permitting
3. Với động từ tận cùng là “ie”

Ta đổi “ie” thành “y” rồi thêm “-ing”.

Ví dụ: lie – lying / die – dying
