Introduction

Through the development of volunteerism and patriotic ethics, the NSTP program
aims to improve youth defense preparedness and civic consciousness. Constituents in this
subject matter can train in any program component. State universities must provide ROTC
and at least one other NSTP component in accordance with the NSTP law. By involving
university students in a variety of community services, the National Service Training
Program (NSTP) significantly contributes to community development. These services
include, among other things, initiatives to prevent drug abuse, promote health, manage
environmental resources, and implement literacy programs. Students in this program learn
how to be efficient and well-disciplined. NSTP courses are good at teaching performance,
community involvement, and self-improvement. The NSTP law's primary objective is to
preserve youth's contribution to nation-building. They possessed a significant impact on the
student's performance, community involvement, and demonstration of abilities and skills of
the student to an extent. Students are taught to have their first line of defense, knowledge.
That knowledge is something that can protect the country we appreciate and protects.

National Service Training Program is something that should be uphold to every

school to show our compassion and love to our country. We’re not only learning in this; we
are also able to save lives and protect it from possible risks or to prevent it to a more
complicated situation. We are able to know things that could save the lives of the people
around us, especially in times of difficult circumstances or even disasters and risks.

EMERGENCY RESCUE TRANSPORT (ERT)

The moving of victims away from dangerous areas and the application of protective
techniques to support a victim's body during emergency transfer are the subjects of
emergency rescue and short distance transfer. This process involves transferring a victim
from a dangerous location to a secure one, to make sure the airway is open and to provide
artificial breathing if necessary. This is to stop excessive bleeding, and to immobilize the
damaged area. The process of transferring a victim from a hazardous area to a safe place is
known as emergency rescue transport. ERT is a technique of various types which only
requires strength, endurance and knowledge. If you are well-aware of the situation then you’d
be able to know how to mend patients or the ones that are at risk or the ones who seek for
help. By only knowing what to do alone is power, being able to know what to do in times of
need is something that students of this subject should know.

COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT (CNA)

Being able to know what the issue to address is the first part every resolver of the
problem should know. By being able to know what the problem is, is also being able to know
what next step should be taken. In community assessment, we are assigned to designated
places to visit and assess, we interacted with people with various type of attitudes, that gladly
we are able to handle. By this, we are also able to know their issues or the problem in their
community that wasn’t solved even after various reports and complaints. As trained and
educated NSTP students we thought of having solutions to the problems the people in the
community wants to point out or address to pass it to the officers in charged or the ones in the
right position to handle the problem. With us, being their voices and their line of defense.

CLEAN AND GREEN

The Clean and Green campaign encourages community members to live

environmentally responsible lifestyles in an effort to preserve and care for the environment.
Pollution-free environments and higher living standards are implied by cleanliness and
greenery. In contrast, green directly contributes to the promotion of health. A green
environment is one that is literally full of trees and other vegetation.
03

By releasing oxygen into the atmosphere and absorbing harmful gases, trees play a crucial
role in air purification. Programs for green cleaning employ procedures, materials, and tools
that safeguard the environment and public health. Additionally, a truly healthy school instills
in its students a value for both environmental and personal health. This project Promote the
sustainable use of cleaned up land for both ecological and human purposes; reduce negative
effects on water resources and quality. Cut back on the production of greenhouse gases and
air toxics. Reduce the number of materials used and waste generated, and preserve energy
and natural resources. Therefore, being clean and green involves more than just clearing out
trash and planting some seedlings. It concerns health, addressing climate change, conserving
water, extending life expectancy and well-being, and so forth.

COMMUNITY PROJECT

A community project's purpose can vary based on its goals and objectives, but in
general, it is done to address a need or challenge within the community and to effect positive
change or improvement. Community projects often aim to address local needs, improve
quality of life, encourage collaboration, encourage civic engagement, and so forth. A
community project's fundamental objective is to improve and transform the community by
addressing particular needs, encouraging empowerment and collaboration, and raising
residents' standard of living. A community project is an initiative or endeavor that is carried
out to address a particular need, challenge, or opportunity by a group of people,
organizations, or stakeholders within a community. These initiatives are usually joint
endeavors with the goal of raising the standard of living or tackling problems that impact the
community as a whole or a specific subset of it. Collaboration amongst a range of
stakeholders, such as local government entities, businesses, non-profits, and interested
parties, is a common feature of community projects. For them to succeed, grants, donations,
and other forms of assistance are frequently necessary. In general, community projects are
essential for meeting urgent needs and enhancing the quality of life for locals. They also help
communities develop a feeling of civic engagement, belonging, and group action.

NSTP CULMINATION

The NSTP culmination is a significant opportunity to honor program participants'

dedication to serving their communities and nation, as well as to acknowledge their efforts
and accomplishments. Participants can take a moment to reflect on their experience with the
National Service Training Program in the Philippines during the NSTP culmination. It
represents the fulfillment of program requirements and a noteworthy turning point in the
participants' civic and personal growth. Participants have the chance to demonstrate the
abilities, information, and values they have acquired during their NSTP experience through a
variety of events, including graduation ceremonies and accomplishment presentations. In
addition to highlighting the value of civic engagement and community service, this reflection
enables participants to acknowledge their own development and contributions to society.
During this activity, students has received certificate of appreciation for wholeheartedly
participating in this program in Davao Doctors College.

The NSTP culmination helps participants, facilitators, and community members feel
more united and supportive of one another. It offers a venue for people to unite and honor
their group efforts to better their communities and advance social change. The culmination
event honors the contributions of all parties involved, including teachers, volunteers, and
community partners, reinforcing the notion that cooperation and unity are necessary for
positive change. In the end, the NSTP culmination personifies volunteerism and service,
motivating participants to carry on improving their communities long after the program has
concluded.

REFLECTION

One thing that would probably keep me closer from my core memory is the things
that I have done with my team and my block mates. The ones we have gone through this
National Service Training Program (NSTP) is something that I want to remember forever.
The things that I have learned here are all learned by heart which I’m confident of bringing it
with me always. I will be confident with every little thing I’d do for sure, because I would
know what to do in times of crisis or need. I know now who to call or to mend this time.
After this training, I have realized that every thing we do is affected or has an equal reaction.
May it be a little thing or big ones, it would still affect us. That’s why it’s very important to
know the possible things and circumstances that could happen and could result us to
something we would forever regret.

I have realized, that it is not the place after all, it is the people whom are with us in
times of dilemma, self-doubts, crisis, that would make us survive those difficult times. No
matter how hard it is or how complex that situation may be, it doesn’t matter as long as
you’re with your people. The right people by your side will make it easy for you, will make it
less-tiring and one day you just realize that everything now is bearable. That, as long as it’s
with them, you know for yourself that everything’s going to be okay, and that it’s all just a
phase we all go through and probably is very normal. Life is a wheel, we never know when’s
going to be our turn, but it will come. Let’s just do something while waiting. Alvar, Jessa
Marie B., NSTP graduate!
