RC how to #2 - Building a metal landing gear with spring coil.
Step 1 - What do I need for building this landing gear design?
Parts list:
a) 1 Aluminum tube - 3/8 x 3''
b) 1 Aluminum bar - 1/4 x 3''
c) 1 Rounded head allen bolt 3mm x 20mm
d) 1 Cylindric head allen bolt 3mm x 10mm
e) 1 Rounded head allen bolt 3mm x 10mm
f) 1 Headless allen bolt 3mm x 4mm
g) 3 Washers 3mm
h) 1 Spring coil - 1/4 x 1'' 1/2 (you can make one with piano wire)
i) 1 Light wheel - 2''
PS: You can convert all metric bolts to inches if you like.

Step 2 - Cut the aluminum tube and bar:
1 Tube 3/8 x 3''
1 Bar 1/4 x 3''
Step 3 - Do 2,5mm holes as show in drilling guide:

Drill a 2,5mm hole through the tube Make the screw-thread with 3mm tap tool 3mm allen bolt

Make the screw-thread with 3mm tap tool
Hole #3 - Use a 2.5mm drill until
the middle of the bar (see squematic)
Hole #2 - Use a 2.5mm drill
through the bar (see squematic)

Hole #4 - Cut the gaps
with an dremel tool

PS: Use a 1/8 or 3mm drill-bit to clean
the drilled channel
Hole #4 - Use a 2.5mm drill

Step 4 - Assembling all parts, follow the assembling guide bellow:

Take 1 tube, 1 bar, 1 spring coil Insert the spring coil and Screw the cylindric allen bolt - 3mm x 10mm
put the bar inside the tube

Screw the headless allen bolt - 3mm x 4mm Take 3 washers - 3mm, 1 wheel, 1 cylindric allen bolt - 3mm x 20mm
Put all together as in the photo above
