Writing : Linking Words

Linking words help you to connect ideas and sentences when you speak or write. We can use
linking words to give examples, add information, summarise, stating a purpose, give a reason
or result, or to contrast ideas.
Here’s a list of the most common linking words and phrases:
Adding information:
In addition, …. Besides, ….
Moreover, … Furthermore, ….
Also, … .. not only … but also ..
What is more, …
Giving a reason:
because ….. due to the fact that
since …. because of
as … thanks to
for ….
Giving a result:
Therefore, …. For this reason, ….
As a result, …. Because of this / that, ..
Consequantly, …. Hence, …
So, ….
Contrasting ideas:

Giving an example:
