Performance Task 1.1 and 1.2
Statistics and Probability PROBABILITY FAIR
1st Semester, AY 2018 - 2019

You are a booth manager in a school fair. As the manager, you are challenged to plan, design and
construct a game booth where the students can enjoy and can apply the concept of discrete
probability distribution.

GUIDELINES:

1. The class will be divided into groups consisting of 3 members. You are free to choose your
groupmates for this project.
2. Each group must fill out and submit a proposal form of their game booth. The games must
apply any of the following:
a. random probability distribution (4 groups)
b. binomial distribution (3 groups)
c. hypergeometric distribution (4 groups)
3. There will be limited slots per topic. The group will only secure a slot once their topic has been
approved. This will be on a first come, first served basis. Topic consultation/approval will be
done outside statistics period.
4. Each group will start with perfect 10 points for the proposal. There will be a 1-point deduction
for every disapproved proposal. A maximum of 5 proposals are allowed for each group.
5. Once approved, the group may now begin designing and constructing their game materials.
6. The groups are expected to submit the final idea paper on September 14, 2018.
7. Presentation of the final game booth will be on September 17, 2018.

problem solving items on your own. Problems related to your game must be challenging
(refer to the difficulty of the problems in the sample). Don’t forget to include a detailed
solution and answer to each problem.

NOTE: Idea paper must be computerized, including the solution. Use the equation tab in MS Word
