INSTRUCTIONS FOR CAT- III ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSION
Objective:
Each student is assigned a broad field of law. You are required to identify a specific problem
within this field, frame a relevant topic, and prepare a synopsis based on the outlined
structure.
Steps for Preparing the Synopsis:
1. Identify a Problem:
o Analyze the broad field of law assigned to you and identify a specific problem
or issue that you wish to address.
o Ensure the problem is significant, relevant, and research-worthy.
2. Frame a Topic:
o Based on the identified problem, create a precise and concise topic for your
research.
3. Structure of the Synopsis:
Your synopsis must include the following headings:
o Introduction: Provide an overview of the topic and the relevance of the chosen
problem.
o Literature Review: Summarize existing research and literature relevant to your
topic. Highlight gaps your research intends to address.
o Hypothesis: State the primary assumption or proposition your research seeks
to test.
o Statement of Problem: Clearly articulate the problem you aim to study,
explaining its significance in the field of law.
o Research Objectives: Define the goals and purpose of your study.
o Research Questions: Formulate key questions your research will attempt to
answer.
o Research Methodology: Specify the approach, tools, and techniques you will
use (e.g., doctrinal, empirical, case study).
o Scope and Limitations: Outline the scope of your study and any limitations or
constraints you anticipate.
o Scheme of the Project: Provide a chapter-wise breakdown of your proposed
research.
o Conclusion: Summarize the expected outcomes and importance of your
research.
Formatting Guidelines
Use A4-sized paper.
Use Times New Roman, font size 12, and 1.5 line spacing.
Ensure proper margins: 1 inch on all sides.
Include a title page with:
Title of the assignment
Your name, roll number.
Subject/course name
Date of submission
Submitted to
Deadline: Submit your synopsis by 30th November, 2024.
