Sclfmanagement refers to the self-regulation or self- i
control; to one’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviour
effectively in various situations. It is about organizing
your time, regulating actions, to achieve pre-determined
goals. (Figure 2.1)

What is Self-management? _
Self-management makes you organized, disciplined, helps in achieving goals, completing
all work on time and effectively. It enhances your self-confidence, develops problem solving

Self-management is important in every field of life as it teaches you to be productively and
efficiently achieve your goals.

ready to accept any challenges. (Figure 2.5)

Building self-confidence is the process which takes efforts and commitment and it requires
having a positive attitude about yourself,
Factors and techniques which help in having self-confidence are:

The SWOT means, S- Strength, W- Weakness, 0-Opportunity, and T- Threat
and a useful technique for understanding opportunities and challenges. SWOT
analysis helps in recognizing the one’s abilities and talents along with choosing
opportunities utilizing their core strengths, ¢Figure 2.6)
