As a new C.S.

major from UNC Chapel Hill, I've quickly learned that hackathons are one of the
best ways to simulate a positive learning environment for coding. Meeting like-minded people
who share a passion for innovation is inspiring, and the collaborative pressure of building a
project in a short timeframe helps me develop problem-solving skills and creativity. Additionally,
hackathons offer the chance to learn from mentors, explore new technologies, and see how
coding can make an impact in the real world.
I've never seen an interactive media topic solidified as a track, and I feel like it would be a great
addition for several reasons. Interactive media combines creativity and technology, allowing
participants to explore innovative ways to engage users through storytelling, design, and
immersive experiences. It also opens doors for coders from diverse skill sets—like game
development, animation, and UX design—to collaborate and create something truly impactful.
For those reasons, I am excited to code for this track first and see how it inspires new ideas and
connections.
