We all know that having a disabilities is very difficult, you can't do those things that normal people can
do. Having a disabilities you can experience discrimination in work, or even school. But because of
Republic Act no. 11650 which states that all schools, whether public or private, shall ensure equitable
access to quality education to every learner with disability, such that no learner shall be denied
admission on the basis of disability. The RA no. 11650 is a big help to those people that have a
disabilities because they can have a quality education without discrimination.
I learned that understanding and patience is one of the characteristic that a teacher mus embody.
Because teachers are the one who mold the knowledge and future of their students. Also, I learned that
special education is very big help to those have intellectual disabilities, learning disability, physical
disabilities, learners with socio emotional, and learners that who are gifted talented because it helps
every student with disabilities to have a chance to learn and showcase their own talent and intelligence.
Every child has the right to the same opportunities as others, regardless of the difficulties they face.
Special education is of great importance for children with learning disabilities, because it gives them the
opportunity to get quality education in line with their unique needs. Aside from special education, we
also have inclusive education that benefits all students by providing them with an equal opportunity to
learn and grow. It also helps to break down barriers between different groups of people and allows
everyone to feel welcomed and valued in the educational setting. The inclusive education is important
because this will help those students that have disabilities to think and to feel that they are belong in
the classroom especially in our society just like normal people.
Teachers play a vital role in education because they are the one that have the ability to influence their
students on how to accept their fellow students especially those students that have disabilities. Also,
teachers are the one that makes their students feel that they are not excluded in the classroom, but
they made to feel that they are included in the classroom.
Special and Inclusive education is important because they make all students with disabilities to have the
opportunity to learn and be successful in school. All students feel welcomed, respected, and valued in
their school community. All students have the opportunity to develop strong relationships with their
peers and adults in their school. Furthermore, it provides opportunities to learn about and accept
individual differences, lessening the impact of harassment and bullying. Develop friendships with a wide
variety of other children, each with their own individual needs and abilities. We must all remember that
having disabilities or without disabilities, we are all equal in eyes of our heavenly father.
Rationale
In order to provide a learning environment that is inclusive for all students, inclusive education takes
into account those needs. To achieve this, it is possible to alter the instructional strategies, resources,
and tools used in the classroom, as well as to develop a welcoming environment for learning.
Learners with special needs are a diverse group. They have different learning styles, communication
needs, and different ways of being exposed to information. While this diversity can be exciting and
valuable, it also means that learners with special needs require different types of support than other
students. On the other hand, this chapter will further elaborate the Typology of Learners with Special
Needs to be able to enlighten everyone what are the different disabilities that students get.
Reaching every kid for the purpose of learning should always be our goal as educators. If we think all
students can learn, then we should think all students should participate in all aspects of school.
