MỞ ĐẦU:

"Gender equality is not just a right but also a key to unlocking opportunities for everyone.
When women and men have equal opportunities, society grows more sustainably. So, what
exactly is gender equality, and why is it important? Let’s explore together."

GIỚI THIỆU THÀNH VIÊN: "To begin today's presentation, we would like to
introduce the members of our team.”
MỤC 1: "Let’s move on to the first part: What is gender equality, and what does it mean for
society? Please stay tuned!"

WHAT IS GENDER EQUALITY

- Gender equality is a situation in which gender does not affect access to rights opportunities.
- Gender equality does not imply that women and men will have or require the same
resources, but rather that the rights, responsibilities, and opportunities of women, men,
transgender individuals, and gender-diverse persons will not be determined by their given
gender at birth.

EXAMPLES OF GENDER EQUALITY

- Gender equality would include distributing at-home work as equitably as feasible across all
genders in a household so that women do not bear the primary responsibility of caring for the
home and family.
- People of all genders need to feel comfortable and free of bullying and microaggressions,
sexual harassment, and gender bias, whether at work, in a religious group, at a community
center, or in any other situation.
- Gender equality in the workplace entails receiving the same compensation for equal labor
regardless of gender. It also implies that if a woman takes time from work to go on maternity
leave, she will not be punished when she returns. She will be considered for the same
promotions, salary hikes, and career prospects as if she had not taken the time off to care for
care for her family.

VIDEO: After closing the video about gender equality in the past, we continue
to move on to reality. So, how is gender equality in the present? Are there any difficulties
or challenges?

PRESENT
- Gender equality today promotes fairness and opportunity for all. In the world, there is a day
for women on March 8 or in Vietnam on October 20. In addition, women can do what they
want, have the right to decide their work and have the right to vote. and run for election... We
can clearly see this in Ms. Kamala Harris, Queen Elizabeth II, or Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
- Queen Elizabeth II embodies stability and continuity, leading Britain for 70 years. She
witnessed historic events, hosted world leaders, and became a cultural icon. Her perseverance
and leadership leave an indelible legacy in history.
- Kamala Harris is the first and only woman to hold the office of U.S. Vice President, breaking
gender and racial barriers. She's an iconic symbol of perseverance and leadership, championing
citizenship rights, healthcare, and environmental protection.
- Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Vietnam's National Assembly Chairwoman (2016-2021), was the first
woman to hold this position. Her exceptional leadership and perseverance significantly
impacted foreign policy and legislative reforms, inspiring generations of Vietnamese women.

BENEFITS OF GENDER EQUALITY

- Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but it is also critical to the
advancement of cultures and nations.
- In recent years, there has been a rising acknowledgment of the necessity of gender equality
in achieving long-term development and poverty eradication.
- Gender equality is the equal rights, opportunity, and treatment of people regardless of their
gender identification.

MỤC 2: After clarifying the concept and general meaning of gender equality, we can move on
to explore the economic benefits that gender equality brings.

BECONOMIC BENEFITS
- Closing the gender wage gap is one of the most important economic benefits of gender
equality.
Ex: In many civilizations, women are paid less than men for doing the same work, which often
results in lower salaries for women and fewer opportunities for economic advancement.
- Addressing this issue can improve the economic situation of women and their families,
thereby driving economic development.
- Gender equality can also boost household income and alleviate poverty.
Example: When women gain control over resources such as land and credit, they often
invest in their families and communities, leading to greater economic stability.
SOCIAL BENEFITS
-Gender equality can improve access to education and healthcare for women and girls, who
are often marginalized in these areas.
Example: Promoting equal access to education can break down gender stereotypes and
enhance the skills of women and girls, empowering them to become more independent.
- Gender equality can also help reduce gender-based violence and discrimination.
Example: Promoting gender equality can foster a culture of respect and tolerance,
enhancing social cohesion and stability.
- Empowering women and girls in decision-making processes is another significant social
benefit of gender equality.
Example: When women have equal access to decision-making processes, they can
contribute to the development of policies and programs that better reflect the needs and
interests of their communities

POLITICAL BENEFITS
- Gender equality increases women's representation in leadership roles and improves
governance and policymaking.
Example: Women bring unique perspectives and experiences to decision-making processes,
leading to greater diversity and better outcomes.
- Gender equality can also strengthen democracy and human rights.
Example: Full participation of women in political processes helps ensure that democratic
institutions are accountable and responsive to the interests of all people.

MỤC 3: Beyond the benefits, it is equally important to focus on achieving gender equality and
addressing the challenges it entails.

CHALLENGES TO ACHIEVING GENDER EQUALITY

- While gender equality is critical for growth, obtaining it remains difficult.
- Persistent gender stereotypes and prejudice can be challenging to change, particularly in
communities where conventional gender norms are strongly embedded.

- Lack of money and opportunity can also be a key impediment to attaining gender equality.
Ex: Women and girls frequently encounter impediments to education, healthcare, and career
prospects, which limit their capacity to contribute to their communities and society.

-Institutional hurdles and reluctance to change can also impede progress toward gender
equality
Ex: Political and cultural institutions may oppose initiatives to promote gender equality,
believing that they may jeopardize old power dynamics and existing social structures.

HOW TO ACHIEVE GENDER EQUALITY

- Reduce parental and adult indoctrination of girls and boys into conventional gender norms.
- Increase enforcement of current laws against gender-based job discrimination and sexual
harassment.
- Confront gender stereotypes in the popular and news media.
-Increase mentorship and other initiatives to increase the number of women in traditionally
male vocations and positions of political leadership.
