Pixels and resolution are terms that arise often with regards to mobile devices.
Every image displayed on a screen is composed of pixels. A screen’s resolution is how
many pixels the screen contains.
Every image recorded with a digital camera is also represented using pixels. A camera’s
resolution is how many pixels are contained in the images that it captures.

Explorer task Pixel art
Some people really enjoy the challenge of creating pictures using a limited number of
pixels and colours. Perform an image search using the keywords pixel art, to see
examples of just how impressive some of these pictures can be.
If you find pixel art interesting too, you can try using a grid like the one from the ‘Binary
mosaic’ activity to create your own piece of pixel art, or modify one you found during
your search.
You can also use one of the many pixel art editors that are available online.
