Unfinished Conversations (Theme: Personal Life)

Ava and Lucas had been best friends since childhood. They had weathered
every storm together—until Lucas vanished one summer without a word. Ten
years later, Ava received a letter in his handwriting, postmarked from their
hometown. It contained only three words: "Meet me tonight."

With her heart pounding, she returned to the abandoned treehouse where
they once made childhood promises. The night was eerily silent as she
stepped inside. A figure sat in the corner, cloaked in shadows. "You shouldn’t
have come, Ava," the voice whispered. A chilling gust of wind slammed the
door shut behind her.

She felt the weight of a decade pressing down on her. "Why did you leave?"
she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Lucas stood, his face
illuminated by the moonlight. He looked the same, yet different—haunted.
"Because I found something I shouldn’t have." He held out a faded
photograph of them as kids, but Ava's breath hitched. There was a third child
in the picture, a girl she had no memory of. "Who is this?" she asked. Lucas'
expression darkened. "That's what I’ve been trying to find out. And now...
they know we’re looking."
