Address format Three levels of administrative divisions are required in the Thai address:
 Level 1, provinces. The name of each province is the same as the name of its
capital city (“mueang”). Though a different administrative unit, Bangkok is at
province level.
 Level 2, districts (“amphoe”) and Bangkok districts (“khet”).
 Level 3, sub-districts (“tambon” or “khwaeng” in Bangkok).
*In rural areas, the 4th level of administrative division (“moo”) is also needed. It is usually
translated as village, though it doesn’t necessarily cover one single settlement.
Administrative divisions names (amphoe, district etc…) are not mandatory in the address
lines and are used either in english or in Thai.
