The Story
Chapter 1
The movie opens with the iconic Circle of Life scene, where newborn lion cub Simba is
presented to the animals of the Pride Lands as the future king, son of Mufasa and Sarabi.
As Simba grows, his father teaches him about the responsibilities of being king and the
delicate balance of the "Circle of Life."
But in the shadows, Scar, Mufasa’s brother and Simba’s uncle, grows increasingly envious.
He believes he should be king.
Chapter 2
Scar orchestrates a trap. He tricks Simba into going to a dangerous gorge, then causes a
wildebeest stampede. Mufasa rescues Simba but is killed by Scar while trying to escape
himself.
Scar manipulates Simba into believing Mufasa’s death was his fault and tells him to run
away and never return. Simba flees, and Scar takes over as king, aligning with the hyenas.
Chapter 3
Simba is found in the desert by Timon, a meerkat and Pumbaa, a warthog, who take him in
and raise him under their carefree philosophy: "Hakuna Matata", meaning "no worries" in
swahili.
He grows into a young adult lion, and forgets all about Pride Rock and the Pride Lands, not
knowing that his childhood friend/crush, Nala is looking for him to bring him back.
Chapter 4
When Nala finds Simba and after they fall in love all over again, she begs him to return to
the Pride Lands, which have fallen into ruin under Scar’s rule, Simba resists. But, with
guidance from Rafiki and a spiritual vision of his father, Mufasa, telling him to take back his
rightful place as king, Simba accepts his destiny.
He returns, confronts Scar, and after a climactic battle, learns that Scar was the one truly
responsible for Mufasa’s death. The truth inspires the lionesses and hyenas to rebel against
Scar.
Simba defeats Scar, reclaims his place as king, and restores peace and balance to the Pride
Lands.
