How Does Time Work?
Time is a way to measure the sequence of events and the duration between them. It
helps us organize our lives, understand change, and compare the past, present, and
future.
1. Time as a Dimension
Time is considered the fourth dimension, alongside the three dimensions of
space. We move through time just like we move through space, but only in one
direction — forward.
2. Units of Time
Time is divided into seconds, minutes, hours, days, and years. These units help
us quantify and manage time.
3. Time and the Universe
According to Einstein’s theory of relativity, time is not absolute. It can move
faster or slower depending on gravity and speed. For example, time runs slower near
a black hole.
4. Biological and Psychological Time
Humans also experience time through body rhythms (like sleep cycles) and
perception. Sometimes time feels fast (when we’re busy) or slow (when we’re bored).
Time remains one of the most fascinating and mysterious aspects of the universe.
