Write a 1500-2000 word assignment illustrating your understanding of the


evolving concept of legal personality in South Africa within the context of
rapid technological advancements.

group cannot be less than 4 nor exceed more than 5 group members

In terms of referencing and citing sources, make use of the UWC Law
Faculty Referencing Study Guide as a source of information.

DO NOT exceed the word count.

Ensure to include a cover page, plagiarism declaration, and bibliography


when submitting your assignment.

It is important to note that plagiarism is a serious offence at the


University. The overuse of AI being detected in assignment will lead to
serious consequences such as the deduction of marks.

Therefore, each assignment will need to pass through the UWC turnitin

• Analyse the potential legal status of AI entities, such as advanced


robots or AI systems
• Discuss the implications of granting legal personality to AI,
considering issues such as responsibility of AI actions, ownership of
AI-generated creations, and protection of human rights.
Data and privacy:
• Explore the legal implications of data collection and
processing on individual legal personality rights, such as privacy,
dignity, and freedom of expression.
• Analyse the role of data protection legislation in safeguarding
individual legal personality in the digital age.
Legal and ethical considerations:

• Consider the role of the courts and legislature in adapting legal


frameworks to accommodate technological advancements
Conclusion:
