SUBJECT – WORKSHEET OF MATHEMATICS
CLASS IX
1. The lengths of the sides of a triangle are in the ratio 3 : 4 : 5 and its perimeter is 144 cm. Find
(a) the area of the triangle (b) The height corresponding to the largest side.
2. The sides of the triangle are in the ratio 3 : 5 : 7 and its perimeter is 600 cm. Find the area of the triangle.
3. Find the area of the triangle whose sides are 22 m, 20 m and 25 m.
4. Find the area of the triangle whose sides are 120 cm, 150 cm and 200 cm.
5. Find the area of an equilateral triangle with side ‘a’ using Heron’s Formula.
6. The cost of a ball pen is Rs 5 less than half the cost of gel pen. Write this statement as a linear equation in
two variables.
7. If x = 1, y = 2 is a solution of 2x + 3y = k, find the value of k.
8. If x = - k and y = 5/2 is a solution of x + 4y – 7 = 0, find the value of k.
9. On comparing the linear equation 4𝑥 + (𝑘 − 1) + 7 (𝑥 + 3) + 4𝑦 = 3(2𝑥 − 2) + 5(𝑦 − 1) with
𝑎𝑥 + 𝑏𝑦 + 𝑐 = 0, 𝑖𝑓 𝑐 = 41, then find the value of k.
10. Find three different solutions of the equation: x + 2y = 6.
2
11. Find four solutions of the equation: (a) 𝑥 + 𝜋𝑦 = 4 (b) 3 𝑥 − 𝑦 = 4.
12. If two lines intersect each other, then the vertically opposite angles are equal.
13. In the given figure, AOB is a straight line. Find the value of x. Hence, find ∠𝐴𝑂𝐶, ∠𝐶𝑂𝐷 and ∠𝐵𝑂𝐷.
14. In the figure, what value of x will make XOY, a straight line?
15. In the figure, PQ and RS are two mirrors placed parallel to each other. An incident ray AB strikes the mirror
PQ at B, the reflected ray moves along the path BC and strikes the mirror RS at C and again reflects back
along CD. Prove that 𝐴𝐵 ∥ 𝐶𝐷.
16. In the given fig., if 𝐴𝐵 ∥ 𝐶𝐷, ∠𝐴𝑃𝑄 = 500 and ∠𝑃𝑅𝐷 = 1270 , find 𝑥 and 𝑦.
17. A teacher of class IX, draws a figure using adjacent angles as shown in the figure and asks students of the
class to find the value of x.
If ∠𝐴𝑂𝐶 = 2𝑥 + 400 , ∠𝐶𝑂𝐷 = 𝑥 − 200 , and ∠𝐷𝑂𝐵 = 𝑥. Find the value of x.
