Chapter 1

General The Chapter 1 presents the general information at a

glance highlighting the evolution of the system since
Information 1990 through a set of key education indicators of the
University education in Sri Lanka under the purview
of the University Grants Commission. The structure
of academic departments of the Higher Educational
Institutions established under the Universities Act. is
also presented.
