Introduction
➢ Sub-centre is the lowest referral pyramid and first contact between community people and
services for promotion the health of the people.
➢Sub-centre is the first point of contact between primary health system and community
people. It is the first unit of health system for village people. It provides the primary health
services to the community people. Nowadays it is known as health and wellness centre
(HWCs).
➢It covers the population of 5000 in plain area and 3000 in hilly areas.

Ensure 4 antenatal checkups.

Provision of Iron & Folic Acid tablets & Calcium supplementation.
Antenatal camp is conducted every Tuesday

Complete immunization.
Management of ARI / Diarrhea & other common illness.
Vitamin supplementation.
➢ For childhood & adolescent :
Complete immunization.
Prompt management of ARI / Diarrhea & Fever with referral as needed.
Immunization : All vaccines are available according to the national immunization schedule.
