Percentages

- Percentage = (Value / Total Value) × 100

- If A is x% more than B, then A = B × (1 + x/100)
- If A is x% less than B, then A = B × (1 - x/100)

Profit & Loss

- Profit = Selling Price (SP) - Cost Price (CP)
- Loss = CP - SP
- Profit% = (Profit/CP) × 100
- Loss% = (Loss/CP) × 100
- SP = CP × (100 + Profit%)/100
- SP = CP × (100 - Loss%)/100

Simple & Compound Interest

- SI = (P × R × T)/100
- CI = P × (1 + R/100)^T - P
- Difference between CI and SI (2 years) = P × (R/100)^2

Ratio & Proportion

- a : b = a/b
- If a/b = c/d then ad = bc (proportion rule)
- If a : b = m : n, then (a/(a+b)) = m/(m+n)

Mixtures & Alligation

- Mean Value = (Sum of Quantities × Value) / Total Quantity
- Alligation Rule: (Cheaper Quantity / Dearer Quantity) = (Dearer Price - Mean Price) / (Mean Price -
Cheaper Price)

Time, Speed & Distance

- Speed = Distance/Time
- Time = Distance/Speed
- If speed changes from x to y, ratio of times = y:x
- Average Speed = (2xy) / (x + y) for equal distances

Time & Work

- Work = Rate × Time
- If A can do a work in x days, then 1 day's work = 1/x
- If A is x times as good a worker as B, then A will take 1/x of B’s time

Averages
- Average = (Sum of observations)/(Number of observations)
- If one item is replaced, New Average = Old Average + (Replacement Value - Removed Value)/n
