Combined Footing Design

The document outlines the design of a slab and beam type combined footing for two columns carrying 600 kN loads each in a small building. It includes calculations for total load, required footing area, slab design, and beam analysis, specifying dimensions and reinforcement details. The final design includes a footing size of 1.7 m x 4 m and various reinforcement specifications for both the slab and beam.

Consider beam width = 500 mm.
The section for flexure acts as an isolated tee beam. The

usually more than what is required for
flexure. Therefore to get a quick idea of a trial depth, the section may
be treated as a rectangular beam.
