Description

This summer has been one of the hardest summers for us as a family and as a community. In this podcast episode, I want to give you an update and a rundown of all the events that took place this summer.

Often we can be distracted by what we assume is the “holy” thing to do that we miss what God is telling us to do personally. The gospel looks different on everybody. We need to do what he has called us to do instead of comparing ourselves to one another. If we all run to the same place other areas will be lacking. After all the events that took place this summer, I felt a Spirit if discouragement on myself because it wasn’t just “a bad day”.

Sometimes we make excuses for not being ourselves when we actually need to legitimize that we’re not doing well and we need help. And what I’ve learned over the years is that in those moments I need to take a step back and look at what’s happening. Where did I get stuck emotionally, mentally, spiritually or physically? I learned to give myself empathy for my current situation without living with a victim mentality. This means going back to the basics.
