Let’s be used to Minitab operation.

• Asked to investigate the length of wall paper. 72 data is collected from random
samples of products for 6days.
• Output Y is in Column 1. Column 2 is the time of collecting samples, column 3 is
the date of collecting samples. Output histogram.

１．Display one by one graphs which were made so far.

①Click “Show Graphs Folders” icon.

②Click graph name.

２．Display several graphs at a time which were made so far.

①Click “Show Graphs Folders” icon.
②Click graph name.
③Click other graph name with pushing Shift of Control key.
④On the turned graph name, right click ＞Tile.

３．Select work sheet.

①Click “Show Worksheet Folders” icon.
②Click work sheet name.

４．Jump optional result in session window.

①Click “Show Session Folders” icon.
②Click graph name or the result in session window.

１．Display hidden session window.
Click “Show Session Folders” icon.

２．Close all graphs.

４．Execute last operation with correcting.

Click “Edit Last Dialog” icon.

５．Modify graphs.
Activate graph.（Click graph）
Click “Edit” icon. （or Double click graph.）
Tools Box and Attribute Box are displayed. You can put color,
change size and move with using these.

 Arrange Data filename：weight.mtw

１．Open file.
File > Open Worksheet
weight.mtw → filename

２．Divide C1 data to C3-C4 column with C2 data.

Manip > Unstack Columns
：C1→Unstack the data in （Original data location）
：C2→Using subscripts in （Explanation location）
： ｖ After last Columns in use （Put the result to last columns in use.）

３．Stack C3-C4 column in one

Manip > Stack Columns
：C3-C4 → Stack the Following Columns
：ｖ C9 → Columns of the Current Worksheet
：C10 → Store Subscripts in

It can do with “copy” and “paste”, too. But it become hard with big data.
Please memorize above methods. Because it is useful.

 Calculation filename：weight.mtw
Use same file.
１．Put the sum of ‘Weight_1’ and ‘Weight_2’ into column C7.
Calc > Calculator
C7 → Store result in
’Weight_1’＋’Weight_2’→ Expression

２．Put 10 times of ‘Weight’ into column C8.

Calc > Calculator
C8 → Store result in
’Weight’* 10 → Expression

３．Put the square root of ‘Weight’ into column C9.

Calc > Calculator
C9 → Store result in
SQRT（’Weight’） → Expression

１．Copy and Paste on the Minitab work sheet.

（It can do with cell, column and range.）

２．Can delete cells’ data (Delete Button). Can delete column, too.

３．Can insert row.

Select row name, Editor ＞ Insert Colomns or
Select row name and right click, ＞ Insert Colomns

４．Copy excel data and paste to Minitab work sheet.

６．Use ‘HELP’. It is very nice.

Green letter：Jump to detail information.
Back： Back to before jumping location.

７．In initial setting, we can open only 15 graphs. Change setting.

Edit＞Preferences
Highlight ‘：Graphics’
：Select Button
You can see 15 bottom of ‘：Dialog box’. Change it to 100.
：OK Button
：Save Button
