Introduction
Some functionality in Windchill makes use of Java. For example the
Process Plan Explorer.
Unfortunately Java does not always function without problems. This
presentation explains some common practices to solve these problems.
Use the related Quick Reference Card as reference.

Attention Points
• Java does not function in Google Chrome. If you need to use Windchill
functionality that requires Java; use Internet Explorer (9 or later) or
Mozilla Firefox
• Java 8 is supported. Normally it should work with the latest build

Actions to take I
If a Java applet is not running, try following actions (in order);
(See QRC on how to take the actions)
1. Close all browser windows and clear the Java cache
2. Next clear browser cache
3. Add the cPLM windchill URL to Browser Trusted Sites list
https://www.windchill.plm.philips.com/
4. Set the Security Level for Trusted Sites to Low
5. Add the cPLM windchill URL to Java Exception Site list
6. Restart the browser
Try to run the applet again.
Click to Run Java when prompted (2x).
Please note; it can take several minutes for the applet to open (sometimes >10). Be patient

Actions to take II
If the applet still does not open after some time. Additionally take following actions:
5. Close all browser windows and uninstall Java
6. Download and (re-)install latest Java version

7. Close the browser and re-open it. Check the Java installation
https://www.java.com/nl/download/installed8.jsp
8. Click to Run Java when prompted (2x)
9. Check if the cPLM Windchill URL is still added to the Java Exception Site list
Try to run the applet again.
