Understanding Global Food Security Issues

Food security is defined as all people having access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food at all times. The global food security index examines affordability, availability, quality and safety, and natural resources/resilience across 113 countries. Currently, climate change, natural disasters, wastage of food, Covid-19, and the Russia-Ukraine war are affecting global food insecurity and leading to issues like malnutrition, poverty, and depression. Organizations like FAO, IFAD, UNICEF, WFP, and WHO are working to promote good agricultural practices, implement adaptation methods, encourage healthy diets, and incorporate integrated crop management to improve global food security.
