INTRODUCTION TO SCREENLESS
DISPLAY
● Screenless display technology refers to innovative
methods of displaying visual information without the
need for traditional screens such as LCD or LED
panels.
● Instead, these technologies project images directly
onto surfaces or into the user's field of view, creating
virtual displays that appear to float in the air or overlay
onto physical objects.
● The primary goal of screen less displays is to enhance
user experience by providing immersive and
interactive visual content without the limitations of
conventional screens.
TYPES OF SCREEN LESS DISPLAY
Visual image
• Visual Image screen less display
includes any image that the eye can
perceive.
• In these cases, light is reflected off
some intermediate object before it
reaches the retina.
Virtual Retinal display
• Virtual retinal display systems are a class of screen less
displays in which images are projected directly onto the
retina.
• Retinal direct systems send light only into the pupils of
their intended viewer.
Synaptic interface
• Synaptic Interface screen less video does
not use light at all.
• Visual information completely bypasses
the eye and is transmitted directly to the
brain.
• This is also called as Direct Neutral
Interface.
Working principle
The working principle of this display states
that the light gets reflected by the
intermediate object before reaching the
retina or the eye. The intermediate object
can be a hologram, Liquid Crystal Displays
(LCD)s or even windows.

CONCLUSION
Though the current technology is crude, one may expect great
advancements in the near future. Its advantages are light weight,
portable, lower power requirement. Yet, looking at the flip side of the
coin, its disadvantages are presently only in rudimentary stages, heavy on
the pocket. Its uses confirms the fact that it will be a new outlook to the
virtual world, which includes hardcore gaming, heads up displays and
scientific research.
