Abstract :
The existing voting method must be converted to an
electronic system
An electronic voting system, E-Voting for a general
election is built in this study, and a fingerprint
authentication based e-voting system is used.
As a consequence, the voting system’s security is
considerably enhanced by the use of a biometric
authentication system.
Introduction
Electors use voting papers and boxes to vote in national
and local elections now a days. This technique exposes
a variety of unfavourable scenarios.
Some of the disadvantages of the classical election
system include not being able to determine which party
the stamp belongs to, the possibility of placing voting
papers in the wrong box, problems with counting the
votes, loss the time.
As a result, new technologies must be used to improve
the electoral systems trustworthiness, economy, and
speed.
Existing system:
An online voting system for Indian election is proposed
for the first time in this work.
The existing model has a greater security in the sense
that voter high security password is confirmed before
the vote is accepted in the main database of election
commission of india.
The additional feature of the model is that the voter can
confirm if his/her vote has gone to correct
candidate/party.
In this model a person can also vote from outside of
his/her allotted constituency or from his/her preferred
location.
Proposed system
In this proposed, a biometric based e-voting system is
designed for providing a secure election on electronic
environment for the electors.
JAVA language which is compatible with java script, is
used in this system and it can also run with microsoft
windows operating system.
Besides biometric based software libraries are also used
for integrating the fingerprint control to the system. The
elector identification system is programmed with JAVA
language and equipped with an optical fingerprint
scanner to accept a scan, recognize the elector, and
open the correct elector record in the database and verify
system.
Module
Admin module
Voter module
Authentication module
Admin module
TheProject admin module allows project administrators
to manage project members, companies, and services, as
well as edit the project profile, they can add one or more
project administrative responsibilities for the project.
Voter module
Today, leading associations often leverage the internet
and web-based solutions to achieve solid election results
and to strengthen their brand and organization. The
voting module allows you to directly conduct elections
and other votes with members to help drive and
determine the direction of your organization. This saves
overhead by eliminating the need for expensive paper
ballots and consultants to drive the process.
Authentication module
The system database consists of a collection of records,
each of which is corresponds to an authorized person
that has access to the system. In general, the records
contain the following fields which are used for
authentication purposes.
CONCLUSION:
Fingerprint voting systems have many advantages over the
traditional voting system. Some of these advantages are less cost,
faster generation results, easy accessibility, accuracy, and low risk
of human and mechanical errors. It is very difficult to develop
online voting system which can allow security and privacy on high
level. Future development focused to design a system which can be
easy to use and will provide security and privacy of votes on
acceptable level by proper authentication and processing section. It
is easy to use and it is less time consuming.
