WHAT IS A URL?
• A URL (Uniform Resource
Locator) is a unique
identifier used to locate a
resource on the Internet. It
is a specific type of
Uniform Resource
Identifier (URI) that
specifies the location of a
resource on a computer
network and provides a
mechanism for retrieving
it.
WHAT IS HTTP?
• The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is the foundation of the World
Wide Web, and is used to load webpages using hypertext links.
WHAT IS HTTP REQUEST?

• The World Wide Web -- also known as the web, WWW or W3 -- refers to all
the public websites or pages that users can access on their local
computers and other devices through the internet. These pages and
documents are interconnected by means of hyperlinks that users click on
for information.
WHY IS THE WWW BEING
CALLED AS “WEB”?
The name “Web” was coined by its inventor, British computer scientist Tim
Berners-Lee, in 1989.
