Covid-19
Covid-19,the coronavirus disease is a
contagious disease caused by the
virus SARS-CoV-2
The first know case was identified in
Wuhan, China in December 2019
The risk is highest when people are
in close proximity to infected people
or surfaces
Its symptoms are variable but ofen
include fever, cough, difficulty in
breathing, loss of smell and loss of
taste
Effect of Covid-19
on India
Covid-19 impacted every sector in India. It
effected the economy, health and even the
mental well being of the people .
• Due to Covid-19 everyone was so scared for
life and thus government declared complete
lockdown for social isolation
• Healthcare workers like doctors and nurses
played a pivotal role and helped control the
situation risking their own lives
• Initially ,it was challenging to get the basic
necesscity items but soon the government
took steps and life became quite normal even
while following the lockdon
• Schools and Offices started working online
• Family started spending more quality time
• India began its vaccination programme on 16
January 2021, operating 3,006 vaccination
centres on the onset.
∙Vaccine Maitri ("Vaccine Friendship") is a
humanitarian initiative undertaken by the
Indian government to provide COVID-19
vaccines to countries around the world. The
government started providing vaccines from
20 January 2021.
∙India offered support to more than 150
affected countries in the form of Covid
vaccines, medical equipment and medicines
during the pandemic.
United Nation
UN outlined the public health measures
that all countries needed to implement,
to prepare for, and respond to COVID-
19. It was being financed through
Government budgets, the UN Central
Emergency Response Fund (CERF) and
WHO's Solidarity Response Fund, which
was open to corporations and
individuals.
