Tapiwa Year8

7 Arrowsmith, also known as France, were jumping for joy when they heard the good news! All the tutor groups supported their chosen athletes in their events. Miss.Trezuex was very proud of her tutor group for winning and also for winning for France!!!. Erin Boulton stole the show in 200 metres race and the girls and boy relay teams won their race to become victors of the year 7 sports day. Erin told my reporting team that she was very proud and happy of herself and of her tutor for winning the sports day and for picking up a nice medal for herself. Jordan Becket also stormed to victory to win himself a nice medal to be proud of. Jordan said to my reporter that he was overwhelmed by the outcome of the sports day. France also won the team relay. After the long and eventful day the tutors were worn out and tired but very proud and happy of their achievements. Without the courage and support from their friends and teachers, they could not have performed to their ultimate best. Sports day over but the joy, pride and happiness still last on. After the finger bitingly tense finale, people where smiling and no-one was downhearted, even if they lost they were still happy for their friends and school peers. By Jack Meakin.

Um not really just made it as best it can be What is your favourite tune that you have played so far? Dont stop me now by McFly And your favourite moment? It has to be Mr Hacketts Irish dancing!!!!
"I felt really scared and nervous before the race. I was kinda shaking. After the race, I came 5th. I did really good. I was hot, tired and out of breath! I know I never won but I tried for my team!" People like Tiannah Hall didn't do any races but said enjoyed cheering her team on, and when Kiera Brandon and Tyreece Henry's race was done they still cheered on their team. Also Brandon Mahoney and Thomas Brett were very supportive. Mrs Middleton was a very loud cheerleader for her tutor! We had everyone there was music Jasmine Gasper enjoyed dancing cheering for her dancing and playing . said she singing and team .
The winners were so happy to win and their teams were so happy and when the medal ceremony was going on everyone was silent waiting for the results. The winners got the JHNCC Olympic medal and won points for their team. Winners like Charlotte O'Neill stood proud with their medal. Also Ria Kelly said she was thrilled to win for her team, 7 Garnet (Ireland) who came a very close second overall in the year 7

Todays year7 sports day was really top sporting event. In the boys relay, France won the relay race. When award ceremony started, no-one knew who was going to win. France came first - well done France!!!! .What a day sports day is over!!! During the show Mr Hackett did a Irish dance for all of us. Mr Hackett learnt to dance when he was 7 at the Miss McNamee school of dancing just for fun. He went with friends and his sister. He was danced for 8 years. He does not suffer from stage fright at all!! His top tip is practice loads at home.

Today at John Henry Newman we have had a year 7 sports day for 2 hours. Six different tutor group took place in it.
Each different tutor represented a country. 7 Arrowsmith was France, 7 Garnet was ireland, 7 Howard was team GB, 7 Lawrence was Spain, 7 Mayne was italy and 7 Rigby was Greece. The winning tutor group was FRANCE!
Each tutor at the beginning took part in the dance called "the big dance" which everyone in year 7 had practiced this for a couple of lesson. A lot of the sports had to be cancelled because of the terrible weather and all the fields were waterlogged. They people who won there games where awarded with a medal. Each student was in there full P.E kit.
The sports day lasted for two hours and the events that they took part were the long jump, triple jump, high jump, javelin and 100m and relay.
She said that she was scared at first because of how many people was there and the other competitors having a lot of stamina and endurance. By Jack Meakin.
Today in John Henry Newman catholic college year 8 had an amazing sports day an opening ceremony to running to javelins and even dancing teachers. Everyone has been cheering to support there country and most of the cheering has granted good luck for some of them. Some of them have enjoyed this remarkable day some of the people haven't competed and seeing this they wish to compete next year.
Today the winners of the year 8 sports day were Ethiopia and not far behind south Africa. Ethiopia achieved 113 points south Africa achieved 108 points which is pretty amazing. There were 7 countries participating such as Ethiopia ( winners) South Africa (2nd place) Egypt ,kenya and Madagascar. Like yesterday's year 7 sports day this has been fascinating sports day it was packed with shocking endings sad endings and happy ending and we will be waiting to see more of sports like ones we've seen today. Some of the winners today are Dylan, Luke and Kieran this has been a impressive day for most of us we should train a bit harder and if you are training hard then carry on training hard. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed it ,after the sports everyone was tired and everyone was happy that they had a great time and they enjoyed playing sports. Some people had injuries like a girl who tripped over her laces that could be due to Friday 13 ( bad luck day).
Everyone enjoyed this amazing day we saw people singing and chanting after hearing the news that they have won. By Hamza Hussain.
On Friday 13th July there was an intense day with a lot of people doing events and supporting a lot of people like Katy and Courtney were supporting and doing events by cheering while waiting for there events. There were many different countries such as Kenya and south America were really supporting a lot waving there flags and cheering even though they didn't win. When the winners were called out they were handed a medal and stood on a podium. Katy said that Sports day is adventure and supporting our friends . Well it doesn't matter who looses or wins its about taking part.!!
Tia : I think sports day brings people together, it think it helps people feel supported and gives them the courage to carry on doing things they like and show off there natural talent. A lot of the year 8 where taking part enjoying doing events even though some of them lost they were happy about just joining in and having fun they were all dancing and singing and cheering for there country to win.
Year 9 sports day Supporters not as vocal as the previous two days SHOCK.
The year 9s had their sports day on the 16th of July Monday and their support was terrible . At first they had the opening ceremony hardly anyone got up they all sat around doing nothing . And the people who got up were amazing . Then the first race began and only a few people were cheering, others were booing! There were hardly any signs for the different countries . In the sports it looked like they couldn't be bothered . Some people tried but most didn't . In the triple jump there was music playing but everyone was just talking, not really looking or supporting. Compared to this, year7 and year 8 were glued to the games and were singing, dancing and cheering. There was loads of signs as well from these two year groups. In the award ceremony people were still talking even though everyone was supposed to be quiet and attentive during the closing ceremony. Paris Hitchins thinks that it was terrible because there was not a lot of people participating and she thinks that they have let their year group down which is such a shame because year 7,8 and 10 were amazing.
Lydia Colin and Paris Hitchins really don't understand why they didn't want to take part it is just a bit of fun. In the races they never put effort in to it which is a very big shame I asked Jordan Burke "what do think about the support"? he said " I think that they could of cheered more to help their team win and done less talking" I also asked Tara Carlo what she thinks she said I think that it is awful there they are not putting in any effort! In the picture on the right it is all dead you can see theres no signs, no cheering at all talking. I was most disappointed By Lydia Colin & Paris Hitchins
By Jordan Burke On the 16th July, it was the year 9 sports day and the countries are India, Vietnam, Japan, China, Kazakhstan and Pakistan. There were hardly any cheers for the people that wanted to take part and they were amazing and definitely tried hard and knew what they was doing. India. Vietnam. Japan. Kazakhstan Pakistan. China
The year 9 2012 sports day was a success. The enthusiasm and the strength of the participants was outstanding and some of the support from the crowd was very motivational to the participants, although the support was not as loud as y7 or 8. I think this sports day was as spectacular as the year 7 and 8 and year 10 and this just shows the work and determination we can do as a school and how we can work together. This day might be a competition but it also shows some of the talented and skilled participants in year 9.

They had to give out stories for people to get plan and write do each sports day was covered fully.
