(most copyright info unknown - web-exchange) House Rules for Dogs and Cats. Post them where they can be read by your pets. Dear Dogs and Cats, The dishes with the paw print belong to you and contain your food. The rest of the dishes belong to me and contain my food. Please note, if you put a paw print in the middle of my plate or food, that does not stake a claim for it. It is still mine. I also do not find it aesthetically pleasing in the slightest. NASCAR did not design the stairway. It is not a racetrack. Trying to beat me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me will not help you win because I will fall faster than you can run. A king-sized bed is the largest that is made. I cannot get anything bigger. I am sorry about this. Do not expect me to continue to sleep on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats are capable of curling into a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular next to each other and stretched out to the fullest extent possible. Sticking your tail out straight and hanging your tongue out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm. For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I manage to beat you there and get the door shut, it is not necessary to whine, meow, claw, try to turn to doorknob, or squeeze your paw under the door to try to pull it open. I have to exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for many years -feline or canine attendance is not required. George Carlin Quotes I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, Wheres the self-help section? She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose. Some people see the glass half full. Others see it half empty. I see a glass thats twice as big as it needs to be. How is it possible to have a civil war? Isnt making a smoking section in a restaurant like making a peeing section in a swimming pool?

Boy Potato and Girl Potato had eyes for each other. When they were old enough, they got married and had a little sweet potato they called Yami. As all parents do, they wanted the best for little Yami. When the time was right, they told her the facts of life. They warned her not to go out with her friends and get half baked because she might get mashed and earn a bad name for herself, like Hot Potato, then end up with a bunch of Tater Tots. Yami told them not to worry. She wouldnt let any spud take advantage and make a rotten potato out of her. But on the other hand, she didnt plan to sit at home and become a couch potato, either. She would make sure that she got plenty of exercise and not be too skinny like her shoestring cousins. Before heading off to Europe, Mr. and Mrs. Potato warned Yami to watch out for the hard boiled guys in Ireland and the greasy guys in France, those French fries. When she returned from Europe and headed out west, her parents warned her to watch out for the Indians so she wouldnt get scalloped. Yami assured them that she would stick to the straight and narrow and not associate with those snooty Yukon Golds. Yami attended PU (Potato University). When she graduated, she was really in the chips. One day, Yami came home and announced that she was going to marry Tom Brokaw. Mr. and Mrs. Potato were quite upset. They told her she couldnt possibly marry Tom Brokaw because he was just a Common-Tater. Young Aviation Working in aviation, I was doing the night shift at the airport directing the planes in and out. All of a sudden the radio crackles and I hear a young voice request permission to approach the runway to land. I ask for a name, and he replies, guess who? I turn off the runway lights and say, guess where?!

Most exterior changes to Your Home Require a Permit!

Did you know that a permit is required for most physical changes to your home? The State Department of Housing & Community Development (HCD) requires a permit for exterior changes, such as: awning extensions room additions air conditioner installations storage shed construction porches decks Park managers are required by HCD to sign off on a permit application for exterior items. You might be surprised to learn that HCD requires permits for changing your homes interior as well, but management does not get involved in this area. The management office has plot plan forms required for the permit application. Teresa Cruz, park manager

must be submitted to Park Management in WRITING and must be SIGNED. Only the person with the problem or concern may file the complaint. None will be accepted from third parties on behalf of someone else. Forms are available in a bin on the wall next to the bulletin board in the main clubhouse AND in almost every issue of the El Toro. If you want your elected SR1 Assn leadership help you, please provide a copy to the SR-1 Assn. Give a copy to any member of the board or fill out the form on the website.

MANAGERS CORNER
A reminder: coffee is on in the club house Monday Friday (holidays excluded) from 9 am until it runs out (usually about 3 pm). Come on down to the office and share a cup of Joe and chew the fat!! School is out and the Pool is open and we feel it is time to review the Pool Rules: 1. Pool Hours are from 9am until 9pm. The pool is open May through October. Therapy pool is operated and heated year round. 2. Pools are for the exclusive use of residents and their guest. All guests MUST be accompanied by a resident and the resident is responsible of the conduct of their guests. Only four guests per space are allowed at any one time, and on a space available basis. 3. Children under the age of 14 should be accompanied and supervised by an adult when using the pool or therapy pool. 4. No LIFE GUARD IS ON DUTY. PLEASE DO NOT SWIM ALONE. 5. All persons using the pool or therapy pool must shower pool side before entering pools. Anyone using suntan oil, lotions, or other ointments must re-shower before entering pools. 6. Persons in swimming suits or trunks, wet or dry, will not be allowed in the clubhouse. 7. Swim fins, diving masks, rubber floats, toys and the like are not permitted in the pools. 8. Screaming, running, horseplay, cannon-balling and diving is not allowed in the pools. 9. Only manufactured swim wear in good condition may be worn in the pools. 10. No food, alcoholic beverages and/or glass containers are permitted anywhere in the pool area. 11. No bobby pins or jewelry are allowed in the pools. 12. Residents climbing over or under the fence around the pool will lose their pool privileges. The car wash areas continue to be a challenge for loitering, depositing of trash and are generally not being taken care of by those using these facilities. A reminder: Vehicle maintenance is strictly prohibited within the confines of Spanish Ranch #1 MHP. If your vehicle requires maintenance, please do so in an approved area. The driveways, RV parking areas and the car wash areas are NOT approved areas for maintenance. There are a few of our residents that are reminded to keep the Utility Pedestal Area CLEAR. Each home is required to keep three feet (3) clearance in all directions. It is a safety issue as well as it impedes the ability of our meter reader to read your utility meters. A word about reserving the club house for your special events. Please plan on reserving your clubhouse based on the following guidelines: The main clubhouse typically is reserved two (2) months in advance and the small club house is about four (4) weeks in advance. The procedure is very simple, just complete the club house reservation form (located in the main clubhouse to the left of the bulletin board). Bring your completed form into the office with a $100.00 refundable cleaning deposit check or money order made payable to Spanish Ranch #1. We will then check the availability of the club house requested, and put you down for your date selected. Your deposit monies will be returned to you after your event if the following conditions are met: 1. All trash is removed from the clubhouse areas. This includes all balloons, banners and other celebration trappings associated with your party. 2. New plastic trash can liners are installed in all trash cans 3. The kitchen is cleaned with the floor washed 4. The tables and chairs are washed and cleaned 5. The carpeted areas are vacuumed and any spills/stains are cleaned from the carpeted areas 6. Bathrooms used are cleaned, swept and new trash can liners installed. 7. All chairs and tables are restored to their original locations according to the guidelines supplied. 8. Lastly, the outside of the building is policed and any debris in cleaned up. Remember, someone else will be using the clubhouse facilities immediately after you and will expect it to be clean. Guillermos Corner Graffiti continues to keep Guillermo busy. As Guillermo spends so much time painting over the graffiti that he says he is going to change his name to Rembrandt!! You might notice that Guillermo continues to paint the walls (inside and outside the back gate) the beige color. If you see someone tagging, call the office AND the police and provide a description and time of the event. There has been extensive damage in the clubhouse areas. Broken windows, damage in the showers / bathrooms, broken tables, broken chairs, trees broken, bushes broken, garbage deposited in the shrubbery and broken hand rails, just to name a few. Please let us know if you see any of this going on. Guillermo thanks everyone for their continued help by reporting streetlights being out. Your help in this is really appreciated. Guillermo would like to commend those residents that are keeping tabs on unfamiliar vehicles parking in our community. As a result of your help, these cars have been tagged and turned over the Hayward Police Department. Guillermo says GOOD JOB!!! Jeff Stoops SR1 Assistant Manager

Minutes of the SR1 Board MeetingJune 7, 2012

Meetings of the elected Spanish Ranch I Executive Board are held on the first Thursday of each month (unless otherwise announced) at 7:00 p.m. in the main clubhouse. ALL residents are welcome to attend! The June 7, 2012 Board Meeting of Spanish Ranch 1 Association was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by President Pat Smith. Present were VP Dawn, Secty Jeanie, and board members Barbara, Brenda, Clint and Marvin. Treasurer Peggy was excused, Jerry was absent. Guest: Denise West. Minutes The minutes of the May 2012 meeting were approved as published. Treasurers Report The treasurers report and the 2012 budget were emailed in advance of the meeting. The treasurers report notes a balance of $746.02, plus $400 in donations being held in reserve to defray costs of National Night Out. The Treasurers Report was approved. Copies of the Budget were reviewed and approved. Committee Reports: Helping Hand One call was handled by Marvin for Helping Hand this month. There is no active Welcoming committee at the moment so Jeanie will try to get together the additional packets requested by management. Social Committee The newly reactivated Social committee will meet on June 21 to choose events to plan and get on the parks calendar and in the El Toro. The Pool Party was a success with more than 150 people stopping by. Donations of cash, supplies and services in excess of $600 were received from the realtors and the parks organized community groups, Bingo and NERT. These were set aside for social events, with the next planned one being National Night Out. The Secretary was directed to send thank-you notes to the realtors and Bingo who donated. Denise brought up a couple more ideas for entertainment, including washable sidewalk paints for kids, fingerprinting kits, and a silhouette-creating booth, and suggested we plan some kid-specific events. These will be discussed at the Social Committee meeting. Clint will look into the legal issues around fingerprinting and investigate having this done by the police department as a service to parents at one of our events. Community Reports: NERT The next creek cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, June 16 run by Jeanie since Dawn is graduating from CSU-EB that day. Emergency Prep updateMembers of NERT, the disaster committee and NW, the entities that comprise the Emergency Prep teams, will be canvassing the park door to door during the next 2 weeks to get together as much emergency information as possible. Regional Manager Greg OHagan will attend the scheduled followup meeting on June 19. HMOA Meetings are suspended for the summer and will resume in September. Elections were held at the May meeting. Dawn, who has served as HMOA president this last year, will remain as VP. Neighborhood Watch meets June 12. Some thefts and domestic abuse was reported at the last meeting. They are planning for National Night Out on August 7 which is kicked off with a Car-a-van on July 30, during which police escort dozens of cars through city streets to raise awareness for drug prevention. Old Business InsuranceRuth Horton has notified us that shes sending a copy of the policy. The cost of the insurance has now been included in the annual budget. Meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Jeanie Schultz, Secretary
