Walk for Karen scheduled for September 20th

Throughout the fall season, the
Montana Alzheimer's Association is
sponsoring Walks to End Alzheimer's
in various locations. Purpose of
these walks is to raise awareness and
funds for advancements in research,

support and cure for this dreadful

brain disease.
Of the worst dreaded disease
in humans, Alzheimer's is the most
costly as treatments and care-giving
involves many family members,

professionals, and facilities providing

extended care. In Montana alone,
20,000 individuals have the disease
which is irreversible, and 50,000
caregivers tend to those afflicted

in Bozeman once again. Supporters are very welcome to
attend as are donations to the fund-raising campaign.
Donations may be sent to:

The Job Service Employers Committee (JSEC) will
host a workshop entitled Talk Sense to an Alien on
Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
at the Cottonwood Inn in Glasgow.
This Fall workshop will focus on understanding
personality traits and generational differences that make
communication difficult. Speaker Roubie Younkin will
help participants recognize these differences in coworkers, family and friends, then speak to them in terms
they can understand.
Participants begin to see the world from a new
perspectiveand have fun doing it! says Younkin. The
workshop includes lunch and materials for a fee of $40,
payable to JSEC. If registration occurs after October 2,
lunch can be included for an additional $10.

Sometimes it feels like people are from another planet,
but really they are just looking at an idea with different
values and perceptions, said Roubie, the workshop leader
and MSU Valley County Extension Agent, who is known
for her enthusiasm and personable presentation style.
She has presented to hundreds of employees and
employers, families and civic groups. She says that
attendees easily relate to the Colors curriculum used

It helps them understand the fundamental differences
in personalities and how each different personality style
contributes to the success of a program, she said.
There is also demand for additional information
about the differences between generations, which she will
provide. JSEC Chair Stacey Amundson described how the
group chose this topic.

JSEC hears from both employers and employees,"
Stacey explained. "After a short presentation on
personalities this Spring, we had tons of feedback from
attendees who wanted to learn more about communicating
with people they dont understand. Roubie gets such good
reviews, we hoped she could be our featured speaker this
Fall."

CSI Comes to Glasgow

Move over, Las Vegas. Step aside, Miami and New
York. CSI is moving to Glasgow! Has our lovely community
become a place for high drama crime? Not exactly.
First Lutheran Church will be hosting a new
Wednesday evening experience called Christs Servants
Inspired: First Lutheran. Each Wednesday we will be
investigating the love of God revealed in the works and
teachings of Jesus. We will delve into some crafts, digest
the clues around a meal together, probe Gods grace in a
short, family oriented worship service, and search through
the gospels for evidence of Jesus love for every one of us,
all centered on the theme of the evening.

We invite everyone to join us. Registration for the
coming year will be September 16, where we will kick off
with a CSI tailgate party. Come have some fun with CSI:
First Lutheran. For more information call 228-4862.

Letter to the Buzz

General Custer or Colonel Sanders?

facts, observations, opinions

Why it's Preacher Collins, just changed his clothes!
This fella come to St. Marie (Love That Cross Ministries)
looking like General George Custer- levies, cowboy
boots, billowing bloused white shirt and a big 'ol cowboy
hat.

Glory be, last week I thought I was look'in at Colonel
Harland Sanders! I didn't recognize the man. He was
all dressed up pretty with a beautiful long tails suit with
vest and tie. He did have the same face and long hair like
Custer when I took a 2nd look. So I says: "Preacher, you
clean up good and sure look pretty." He smiled but didn't
say a word.
His "Throw Down Revival" style is proving to be
popular cause folks keep coming back and bringing
friends along with them. His method of delivery and
message seems appealing to many. Preacher John's "Right
Out of The Bible" messages and hard stand AGAINST
"Political Correctness" reflects his old fashioned church
approach.
Along those lines, Nashua's Grace Lutheran
Church brought Christian speaker Eric Barger (Take A

Stand Ministries) to Glasgow last Saturday. He spoke

at the Glasgow Evangelical Church and I attended his
conference. He spoke of many Evangelists and on the
subject of "Understanding and Resisting Postmodernism"
and the short comings of some churches maintaining
their "Political Correctness" posture. His emphasis was
that if it didn't say it in the Bible, it wasn't true. He echoed
and re-enforced the same words of Evangelist Collins.
Friends, a "Bible Toting Preacher" isn't for everybody,
but Preacher Collins sure seems to get the attention of
many at his 10 A.M. Sunday service up at the St. Marie
Base Chapel. He's a very demonstrative Evangelist to put
it mildly.

The Glasgow gridders were in Baker this past Friday
night where the Spartans rolled out to a 40-zip halftime
lead before Spartan Head Coach Dave Breitbach went to
his bench. Final score of the ball game was just that, 40-0.
The Scotties are now 0-3 while the Spartans are
now 2-0, their other victory happening in Wolf Point
with a 38-6 triumph over District 2B Wolves.

The Scotties now venture to Lewistown to take on
the Sweet Grass County Sheepherders of Big Timber.
Kick-off is at 6:00.
The Herders are 2-1 with an opening-season
win over Whitehall (21-10) followed by a win over
Three Forks (49-0). This past Friday night they lost to
Manhattan 27-13.
The Scotties are on the road again the following
week as they travel to Fairfield. The Eagles are currently
2-0 and have given up just two points as they blanked
Libby 43-0 and suffered a safety in Boulder but would
pounce on the Panthers 42-2. The Eagles host Broadwater
(Townsend) this Friday in a match of unbeatens as the
Bulldogs have wins over Loyola Sacred Heart (39-16)
and Choteau (28-27).
In the District 2B, Malta is the team to beat as
the Mustangs fell to Huntley Project 28-27 but would
bounce back to blank Shepherd 28-0. Poplar is the only
other team in 2B with a win as, after falling to Forsyth
47-0, the Indians rallied to beat Lodge Grass 40-28 this
past Friday. Harlem is 0-2 and Wolf Point is 0-3.
