It’s already been a busy week with much more to come for our
Valley County kids who are on the Washington, D.C. trip, not
only fun, but very educational. The group includes (standing
in front of the White House, from left) Teagan Peterson,
Kade Meland, Ty Westby, Tatum Hansen, Lex Fairclough,
Connor Koski, Zevin Kummerfeldt, Kheyerah Bilger, Jordan
Cook and KJ Ingram. On Sunday, they have been to Mount
Vernon, down Embassy Row, went through Georgetown and
were visiting the Monuments — World War II, Jefferson,
FDR, MLK Jr, Korean, Lincoln and then Vietnam.

OBITUARY
Fay Dahl
Fay Avon Dahl, our beautiful, loving and caring
wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, 90,
gained her angel wings on March 6th at Frances Mahon
Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow with her loving family by
her side.
Fay was very fortunate to be able to stay in her
own home until close to her death. This was due to her
youngest daughter, Candy, coming back to Glasgow 8
years ago to stay with her and give her help when she
needed it. Under Candy’s loving care, she was able to stay
in her home that long.
Fay was born November 1, 1933 in Enderlin, ND
to Marvin and Olga Lindemann. She was baptized May
26, 1934 by Pastor Lutness in the Lutheran church in
Enderlin, ND.
She married Norman Dahl in February of 1953 in
Fargo ND. They were married for 49 wonderful years.
The family had lived in Enderlin, Harvey, ND and
Langdon ND, before coming to Glasgow in 1964. She
worked for Red Owl Stores in Enderlin ND for 5 years
and for Gordon’s Foods for 36 years. She also worked for
Eugene’s for 2 years. She was a Member of Faith Lutheran
Church since 1965. She was also a life member of the
VFW Auxiliary.
Her family and grandchildren were very important
to her, as well as her day care kids. In their retirement
years, Fay and Norm enjoyed making trips to go visit
their grandchildren, which took them to Great Falls,
Colorado, Kalispell and Arizona.
Fay enjoyed gardening, her flowers, going to church,
visiting, cooking and baking (which she was excellent at).
Her homemade bread, buns and lefse were the absolute
best!
Preceding Fay in death are her parents, Olga
and Marvin Lindemann, husband Norman (Bawky/
Stovepipe), mother-in-law and father-in-law, Hans
and Rose Dahl, infant daughter Judy Dahl, daughter
Cheryl Melikian, grandson Jason Dahl, daughter-in-law

was a very proud and loving Godmother to.

Mortuary, 701 2nd Ave S, Glasgow, MT from 5 – 7 pm.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 15th at First
Lutheran Church, 621 2nd Ave. N, Glasgow, MT at 11 am.
with Pastor Scott Kiehn officiating and a private family
burial to follow at the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.
A reception will be held at 12:30 at the VFW, 1222
US Hwy 2, Glasgow MT.

(Note from the Buzz: Fay’s husband “Stovepipe” could be
the reason you’re reading the B.S. Buzz today. He always
gave me hope & encouragement, and we even had to
repair the Courier web press together after Corky got his
finger nearly ripped off on a Thursday sunny, summer
afternoon. Although I knew Stovepipe like an uncle or
something, Fay was always a darling to be around... her
warm heart and smile was always so touching.)
Rams repeat in Class B

A dominant Missoula Loyola boys basketball team
successfully defended their State Class B title Saturday
night at MetraPark First Interstate Bank Arena in
Billings.
The Rams won last year over Malta, 65-55, in Great
Falls. This year the Rams played another Northern B
team, Fairview, to win a second championship 69-54.
Loyola completed the season with a 25-0 record.
Fairview is 16-8. Fairview was third at the state Class
C last year. The Warriors ted for second in District 2B,
took third at the tournament and won the Northern B
tournament.
Lodge Grass edged Arlee, 78-77, for third place.
Poplar lost to Arlee 57-44 in a Saturday morning loser
out game. The Indians went 1-2, defeating Lodge Grass
71-55 and losing to Loyola 63-42.
Bozeman Gallatin (19-5) beat Missoula Sentinel
(13-11) 62-45 for the Class AA crown in Missoula.
Billings West beat Butte 78-62 for third place.
Dillon (20-5) pulled away from Fergus (9-12) to claim
the Class A title, 53-28 in Butte.
Columbia Falls slipped past Butte Central 58-53
for third.
Baker (22-4) took a 20-11 first quarter lead en route to
a 57-44 win over Missoula Loyola 21-4) for the Class
B girls championship. Madison O’Connor scored a
game-high 29 points for the Spartans. Huntley Project
defeated Anaconda 58-50 for third.
Malta went 1-2, beating Florence 48-43, losing to Loyola
56-46 and to Anaconda 61-58.
Chinook lost to Baker, 46-30, and Anaconda 59-
56.
Billings Skyview (24-0) beat Missoula Hellgate
(17-7) 54-36 for the AA crown. Breanna Williams led
the Falcons with 26 points. Billings West knocked off
Bozeman Gallatin 57-38 for third.
Billings Central (21-2) outscored Bigfork (22-2)
8-5 in the fourth quarter to win the Class A title, 41-38.
Bigfork was going for its second crown. The Vals won
the Class B title last year.
