being shot. With that, he died.
In the mean time, back in Glasgow, word was
brought to them that Hardee and McKinney were
dead.
It was said about 30 vigilantes, all wearing masks,
quietly stormed the jail house and drug Brown to the
second floor where they put a rope around his neck and
tied the end of the rope to the radiator and threw him
out the window. They left him there all night swinging.
THE GREAT JAIL BREAK WAS OVER!
Two years later, George E. Pierce who was wanted
for the murder of a deputy sheriff during the jail break in
Glasgow, escaped from the jail in Harrisville, Mo. where
he had been confined awaiting the arrival of Montana
officers!
And so it goes.
