Free QPR training Saturday
Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) training on crisis
intervention will be held Saturday, July 16th at 1:00 pm
at the Glasgow Elks Lodge.
The training will include risk factors and warning
signs associated with suicide as well as learning an
evidence-based approach to intervention and suicide
prevention. All veterans and their friends and family
are invited and encouraged to attend.
Funded by a grant from the Benevolent and
Protective Order of Elks, the training is free to the
public and coffee and snacks will be provided. For

Let’s talk flatulence. If we may…You know, that
derriere discharge that even the current acting president
(and doing a terrible job of it I might add) was pointed
out by the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla as saying how
loud a noise it made while he visited England.
She was so impressed by the episode that she
talked about it for days. And as the New York Post was
quoted as saying: Parker Bowles, who has been married
to Prince Charles since 2005, was taken aback by the act
of flatulence and how long it lasted!
Well, hopefully the leader of the free world will not
go to New Zealand in the near future as the government
down under, way down under, that is,
has proposed a world -first plan to tax cow and sheep
oral discharges or better known as “burps!”
For real! Well, howdy doo about that!
It just might mean that it is only a matter of time
before the barnyard butt blast is also a target of tax.
Well, news of flatulence episodes is not really new.
Why back in the year of 1781, good old boy, Benjamin
Franklin wrote an essay about the art of passing gas in a
letter to the Royal Academy of Brussels, one of the most
respected scientific organizations in Europe. And in the
missive he asked a very important question: “Why are
you putting absolutely no effort into figuring out how to
make my farts smell better?”
The letter is entitled: Fart Proudly by Benjamin
Franklin.
As “Yogi” Berra once said “If you don't believe me,
you could look it up!”
Now, it seems to me with the new “woke”
movement being the center of attention, it appears that
cow flatulence is the, or one of the reasons for climate
change.
Really?!
I highly doubt that the climate is effected by
bovine or porcine emissions. There are a multitude
of other critters that also pass gas on a daily basis,
like the human race including heads of state, like the
Biden Administration and I might add, Republican
and Independent voters also. Just to cover the whole
spectrum.
So I was most recently told an interesting point of
view by a dear friend who is a very wise farmer over in
Tennessee and it was an eye opener — or shall I say a
nose opener. It goes like this!
He says, “The woke brigade and plant based food
army are now claiming that cows emit more pollution
than automobiles!"
Further on he says that if you believe that, "I'll make
a deal with you. You lock yourself in a garage with a car
running overnight and I will do the same with a cow
and then we will discuss the matter in the morning!”

Never in my nearly 40 years in the printing business
that extends back to my days of learning the trade at

shortage.

a tough time getting paper.
While we've gotten two pallets of precut 17 1/2 by
23 60# white paper since we started BS Central back in
2012, we've never even thought it would come to this.
We were supposed to get another couple of pallets

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She + Registration deadline is Thursday, July 14th at 5:00pm
