I first started hearing from parents and getting a memo on the radio after mentioning the
soccer parents in Bozeman and apparently from the Surf Soccer story.

Universal outrage continued from front
“Silent Saturday” that the Bozeman soccer club was
implementing for the near 70 games that were set to be
played on Saturday.
We get it- parents are getting out of hand during
sporting events these days. There’s a general lawlessness
that is taking root all across America. But just like the
lawlessness across America- instead of punishing the
wrongdoers, we punish everybody. The shoplifters
don’t get punished, so we all pay for it with higher
prices. If a few parents are getting out of line, why don’t
they punish the people getting out of line? Instead, let’s
punish everybody.
One caller, Tim from Savage, hit the nail on the
head. He likened it to gun control. The Left doesn’t
want to punish the people who commit crimes and use
guns illegally, instead they want to take away guns from
everybody else.
So how’d the soccer games go? As KBZK-TV
reports, parents got creative:
Parents say they found ways to get creative, many
brought signs, and cowbells and some even wore shirts
that said ‘’ shhh we’re in Bozeman.”

Richards runs wild over Mustangs

A leader can show by example. Friday night at Scottie Field
Glasgow’s 5-foot-10 senior Toryn Richards showed his
leadership by running over the MaltaMustangs. Glasgow
scored first and never looked back in a 26-7 win over their
rivals in a Northern B opener.
The last time Glasgow has beaten Malta was 2016, 34-
33. Malta had reeled off six straight wins against the Dawgs.
Glasgow has won 32 of 58 games in the series, which started
1923, 6-0. There is one tie, coming in 1930, 13-13, and a Class
A State Championship over the Mustangs 22-20 to wrap up
the 1976 season.
Richards was the main running back for the Scotties and
has been this season. He piled up 164 yards on 22 carries and
caught one pass from Khye Gamas for a 19-yard touchdown.
Glasgow (1-4, 1-0) piled up 262 total yards with 243
coming on the ground. Gamas had nine carries for 47 yards
and freshman Liam Chapman six totes for 18 yards.
The Mustangs out gained the Dawgs, finishing with
338 total yards. Malta rushed for 236 yards and had 102 in
the air. Stockton Oxarart was 11 for 20 in passing. Saco all-
around athlete Blaine Downing rushed for 141 yards on 20
carries.
Malta (1-4, 0-1) actually scored first on a 69-yard pass,
but that play was called back on a penalty. That forced the
Mustangs to punt and gave Glasgow its first possession of the
game.
Glasgow took the ball o n Malta’s 48 with Richards
taking the ball to the 11 on six plays. Gamas had three plays
to score on a 1-yard run and a 6-0 lead with 6 minutes to play
in the first quarter. Rex Monson booted the PAT for a 7-0
lead.
Malta took Glasgow’s ensuing kickoff at the 38,
marching down field to cap off the drive on Oxarart’s 10-
yard pass to Treyton Wilke for a TD. Landon Retan kicked
the extra point to tie the game zt 7-7 with 43 seconds left in

the quarter
From that point it was all Glasgow as the Dawgs scored
19 unanswered points. The Dawgs didn’t waste much time,
scoring on their second possession . Glasgow took the ball
on the 31 of Malta with Richards getting to the 9 on two
plays before the quarter ended. The Dawgs offense was set
back 10 yards on three plays, making it fourth-and-goal from
the 19. No sweat, Games found Richards open for a 19-yard
touchdown pass. Monson made it two for two on PAT’s for a
14-7 lead with 10:18 left in the first half.
Vaughn Miller had a Pick-6 when he intercepted an
Oxarart pass and returned it 33-yards for a touchdown with
6:11 to play. Glasgow led 20-7 after a failed PAT kick. The
Dawgs took the lead into halftime.
The teams were close in total yards with Glasgow
leading 176-172.
It was a defensive second half with Richards intercepting
Oxarart early in the third. Glasgow wouldn’t score until the
6:23 mark of the third when Richards scored from 7 yards
out for a 26-7 lead.
Glasgow’s defense had stopped Malta on a goal-line
stand at the 7. The Mustangs managed to get to the 3 when
the Dawgs held them late in the fourth quarter. Richards ran
to the 7 where Gamas had to take a knee twice to run out the
clock. Malta also got to the 14 before turning the ball over on
downs prior to its final possession.
Malta is also a young team with seven seniors. Oxarart
and Downing are juniors.
Conrad also won its first game over Fairfield for the first
time in a long time, 13-6. Cut Bank whipped Wolf Point, 48-
12.
This week the Bonnie is celebrating Homecoming. All
week long the Dawgs will prepare to host Cut Bank at 7 p.m.
in a Northern B contest Friday night at Scottie Field. KLTZ
will air the game.
Get out and support the Dawgs, they share the
conference lead with Conrad and Cut bank.

All in for Scottie Field Recharged
I grew up in Saco and have been a member of this
community since 2004. I married into the Glasgow
lifestyle and could not be more proud to live anywhere in
the world. Which, if you know my husband, you recognize
that living in Glasgow wasn’t up for negotiation.
The bond put forth by our school board cannot be
reduced to an academics vs. athletics discussion. When
I look back on my youth my academic and athletic
successes are completely intertwined. Academics
contributed to my future as a nurse, and athletics fueled
my passion for people. I work side by side with friends
I made as a young kid playing against each other in
basketball. I get hugs from my wonderful elementary
school teacher when I leave the gym after coaching a
volleyball match. High school sports laid the foundation
for a lifestyle of being physically active, using exercise
to treat stress and anxiety, and playing and coaching
sports to bond with my own children. Sincerely,
I share this because I am a huge advocate for loving
and respecting people where they are at in life. What
drives and inspires people at age 10 or 16 or 18 is no less
important than what drives and inspires you at 30 or
40 or 50. As a community it is our duty to support and
develop EVERYONE here, we support people through
fires and illness, we support our elderly through the
nursing home, and we need to support our children
through the public school facilities.
We need to repair the school buildings, we need to
ensure continued safety when our kids walk into those
buildings, and we need to secure safe places for our kids
to be active and competitive and learn what it means
to want something and work hard to achieve it. These
issues are all part of the same picture.
I LOVED growing up in a small community. I left
and gained valuable education and life experience but
my love for this small community brought me home
where I have served many of you as a nurse for nearly
20 years. Investing in the academics and athletics of our
youth comes full circle. My husband and brother and I
are examples of that.
