A Real HOT Fourth of July remembered!
In St. Marie, Montana, 2015,
was a very dry and hot year.
July 4th began nicely with the
families gathering for hot dogs and
hamburgers grilling on the “Barbie”.
Around 3:00 PM in the
afternoon, that’s 1500hrs, military
time, or for the Marines, the big
hand is on 12 and the little hand
is on the 3. Go Army, smoke was
billowing from the back section of
the former thrift store.

and Greg Pederson were the only two
available at the time to man the fire
trucks and began their assault on the
fire as the flames were fanned by the
wind. The call went out immediately
for the firefighters and they came
post haste. It was a long and hard

Letter to the Buzz
Reflecting on Independence Day, Part 2
Well, I may have “ruined” the 4th of July for the
rest of the town, but I certainly had a great 4th.
I got to spend it with my son. I got to have dinner
with my uncle, aunt, and other family who came to
town. I got to show Dustin sparklers and snakes and
some little fountains in our driveway. It was a perfect
day for me.
Most of our guys got to do what they wanted with
their families. I say most because we still got called out a
couple times for various things.
But to all the people I’ve heard complaining about no
fireworks show, it’s time to put your money where your
mouth is. Step up. Volunteer in some sort to help put it
on. I’ve seen numerous people complain about it that to
my knowledge don’t volunteer for anything in town. Our
community is getting bad for wanting bigger and badder
everything but no one new is stepping up to help make
that happen. The same people that have helped put stuff
on for years can’t be expected to keep doing everything.
We have a fantastic community that has lots of cool
events and happenings, but we still need help to continue
doing those things and expanding them.
Keep in mind, it is not the Glasgow and Valley
County Long Run Volunteer Fire Departments’
responsibility to put on the 4th of July Fireworks Display;
any Glasgow entity can take on this responsibility.
I hope everyone else had a great 4th, now onto
Gov. cup!

Costs of fireworks

So, you like fireworks. If you’re like me I liked
fireworks. When I was younger we would buy
firecrackers in a big bundle. I don’t remember how
much we spent, but I’m sure it was $20-$50.
So, how much did you spend this year?
T his year Americans were expected to spend
$89.45 billion on food alone. And last year we spent
$2.3 billion on fireworks.
Even in the pandemic of that so-called COVID
hyping that the Government schemed up we spent
$1.9 billion. Social distancing, who did that?
Looking back, $407 million was spent on
firecrackers, sparklers, Roman candles, cherry bombs,
and other celebratory explosives. Ten years later the
spending went up to $636 million. This is despite how
many Americans say they don’t have enough money in
the bank to cover a basic emergency.
This year sales were expected to increase by about
$100 million. Revenues were expected to be $2.3
billion. Of course, Bidenomics and inflation might
have something to do with that.
The figures suggest that we are spending three
times more than we did in 2012, when sales stood at
$645 million, and sales could top $3.3 billion by 2028.
Missouri has spent the most on fireworks, which

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a press conference this NOW
morning, interim DC Police Chief Ashan Benedict OFFERING
said that while they have top investigators on the case,
they may never know exactly who left a bag of cocaine

labeled “Property of H. Biden” in the White House
while Hunter Biden was there.
“Listen, this is a difficult case to solve,” said
Benedict to reporters. “The initial ‘H’ could be anyone.
Hank, Herman, Harry... the possibilities are endless. We
will do our best to solve this, but we need the American
people to know that this extraordinarily difficult case
might just be unsolvable forever.”
Sources close to the case confirmed that police had
planned to dust for fingerprints, but they accidentally
lost their fingerprinting kit. They were then going to
review security footage of the room where the hard
drugs were found, but the tapes for that time period
accidentally fell into a bucket of hydrochloric acid and
were ruined. DNA tests also proved fruitless, as almost
all of the DNA found in the White House belongs to Bill
Clinton.
“This is a case that may haunt me for the rest of my
life,” said lead Detective Frank Drebin as several laser
dots appeared on his forehead. “I’m completely stumped
here. I really hate to see the bad guys get away like that.”
At publishing time, DC Police had also lamented
the unsolvable case of the dead hooker they just found
buried in the Rose Garden.

The production stars Jenny
Smith, Jill Tieskoetter, and Shy
Iverson, who also designs the production’s set and
props. Sydney Hayward serves as Tour Manager, with
costume design by Chae Clearwood.
Theatre for Young Audience (TYA) is designed to
educate and enlighten youth, with a goal to bring visibility,
excitement and awareness about the performing arts.
Under an hour in length, TYA productions are perfect
for the entire family: geared towards children, but sure
to engage all ages while it encourages and fosters a love
for theatre. Admission for these performances is FREE.
