— she initially thought it was a rat!
Addison’s Mom, Dinae Settoon,
took the front page photo of her
with Governor Greg Gianforte and
Duke. Dinae is the Community
Director at Nemont Manor in
Glasgow. Anyhow, Nice catch,
Addison! We don’t know much
about toads here in northeast
Montana, and even though it is
in a young girl’s hand, look at
the size of this one. Biggest toad
we’ve ever seen in these parts —
a genuine Duck Creek lunker.
Greg pops a nice one
After putting a couple of decent walleyes in the livewell on
Day 1 of the 36th Annual Montana Governor’s Cup Walleye
Tournament for 14.08 pounds, Greg Gianforte and his partner
Matt Smith of Shepherd had a bit better day on Day 2, including
this 30 inch, 11 pounder. “It was a personal best for me,” Greg
said. The Bozeman-Shepherd duo finished with 34.35, good
for 58th place. That was two places above well-known Fort
Peck Reservoir anglers Steve & Traci Harada from Wolf Point
(they kinda’ call Rock Creek home base). The husband-wife
team had 28.92 pounds on Day 1 but could only muster 3.80
pounds day 2 for a 32.72 pound total. We’re always rooting
for Steve & Traci, they’re such a great couple! We should
have some good info coming on the 36th Annual Guv Cup. A
Glasgow Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture event, the crew
was busy yesterday and this morning unloading the trailer,
getting things tucked away and going through tons of paper
work. You wouldn’t believe how much toil and time the Guv
Cup Committee and other volunteers put in to bring everyone
this awesome tournament. And it sure is nice to finally have a
Montana Governor appreciate it and support it!
