Celebrate Good Times, Come On!

Okay, so maybe these Scotties (from left) Macy
Martin, Berkley Hillman and Hayden Green
aren’t familiar with Kool & the Gang’s only #1 hit
Celebration, (it came out in 1980, reaching No. 1 on
the Billboard Hot 100 chart on February 7, 1981) but
the girls were indeed celebrating at the conclusion
of Monday evening’s game with Glendive as the
Scotties slipped past the Red Devils 10-9. Glendive
switched pitchers in the bottom of the sixth, and it
proved costly for the Red Devils as, in the bottom of
the seventh, the Scotties rallied. They put their first
seven batters on and freshman Halle Hunter would
come up with a shot that was heard around the
Sullivan Park, a bases-loaded walk-off double. It
was a thriller, and how about those young Scotties,
an exciting team to watch! Their record is now 5-5-1
overall. They’ll be at the Huntley Project/Shepherd
Invitational this Friday and Saturday.

Lustre Christian and Saco took part in the Sidney
Invitational while the rest of the area teams were in
Glasgow for the Jean Dreikosen Invitational.
The Lions took seventh in the boys meet with 35 points.
Saco was 16th with six. The Panthers scored seven points
in the girls race for 14th. For the Lions, Terran Joseph was
third in the 100 with an 11.67 and sixth in the 200 with
24.97. Johnslee Pierre ran a 43.50 to win the 300 hurdles
and went a PR of 43-10 for second in the triple jump.
Brian Guesde was third in the long jump, going a PR of
20-5.25. The Lions 4X400 relay team ran a 3:39.61 for
fourth. Running a leg were Guesde, Bryon Ewing, Joseph,
and Pierre.
Blaine Downing scored Saco’s points, taking third
in the pole vault at 12-feet. Emerson Downing scored
for girls with a third in pole vault at 8-6 and sixth in the
javelin at 95-4.
Culbertson boys won the Dreikosen meet with 160
points. Nashua followed switch 79, Dodson had 55, Turner
53, Hinsdale 40, Malta 31 and Frazer 27.
Grady Neilsen helped the Porcupines with a second
in shot put at 38-9.5. He had a PR of 115-7.5 for third in
discus. Charlie Kaasa won the 3200 running a PR of 11:55.9.
He was fourth in the 1600 with a PR of 5:43.1. Bubba Pugh
was a double winner, going 17-feet, 11.75-inches in the
long jump and 38-feet, 1-inch in the triple jump. Jackson
Abern was third in the triple jump, going 36-feet for a PR.
He was fourth in the long jump with a PR of 16-11 and
sixth in the high jump at a PR of 5-feet. Abern had a PR
of 33.5 for fourth in the 300 hurdles. Damon Adkins was
third in the javelin, going 129-4. Nashua’s 4X100 relay
ran a 54.4 for second. Running on the team were Tycom
Adkins, Norman Sibley, Caden Laumeyer, and Neilsen.
For the Raiders, Kade Strommen cleared the bar at
5-feet to wain the pole vault. He was the lone vaulter so
he didn’t take any risk at going higher. Coy Bowman took
second in th/e high jump at 5-2, fourth in the triple jump
at a PR of 34-4, fourth in the 200 with a PR of 27.3 and
fifth in Javelin at 114-9. Jaydeen Hanshew took fourth in
the discus at a PR of 102-6.5, fifth in the shot put, going
32-7.5 and fifth in the 200, running a 27.4. Linden Holt
had two PRs, running a 13:57 for fifth in the 3200 and
sixth in the 1600 with a 6:19. He also ran a 1:04 for sixth in
the 300 hurdles.
Gabe Beston led the Bearcubs, running a PR of 12:33
for second in the 3200. He was third in the 1600 with a PR
of 5:41 and fourth in the 400 with a 1:05. Travis Long ran a
1:08 for fifth in the 400. Joseph Beston had a PR of 38-feet,
9-inches in the shot for third. Ty Fourstar was sixth in the

The Board of Directors of the Fort Peck Rural County
Water District have been made aware that two candidates
for the Director election have distributed candidate
statements with many references to the current Board of
Directors actions and inactions. The Board is preparing a
rebuttal statement to provide all of the relevant facts and

Kodi McColly won the discus with a PR throw of 94-feet,
3.5-inches. She was third in the shot with a PR of 27-9.
Senior Zora Holt was a double winner, running a 6:23 in
the 1600 and a 13:15 in the 3200. She was second in the
pole vault, going 6-feet. Lyli Bear was second in the discus
with a PR of 85-7 and fifth in the shot with PR of 27-4.
The Raiders 4X100 relay ran a 1:00.1 for a win. Running a
leg were Layne Jones, CharLee McColly, Holt, and BaiLee
McColly. Jones was sixth in the long jump at 11-6.
Katey Dykstra led the Porcupines with a win in the
100, running a PR of 13.4. She ran a PR of 28.5 for second
in the 200, fourth in the triple jump with a PR of 28-9,
fourth in the high jump with a PR of 4-feet and fifth in the
long jump at 12-2. Dyllan Bergstrom ran a PR of 6:53.4 in
the 1600 for second. She was third in the hurdles, running
the 100 ub a time of 20.7 and 300 in 1:02.6.
The Bearcubs had four place with Mariah Beston
running a PR of 17:56.9 for second in the 3200. She also
took fourth in the 1600, running a PR of 7:56.2. Kalianna
Blount took fourth in the 1600 with a PR of 8: 19.7 and
Aubrey Mail followed with a PR of 8:36.8. Lola Romero
tied for fourth in the 200, running a PR of 33.0.

in Glasgow during the 42nd Annual Norm Girard Top 10

Montana Community Foundation. The interest from
this investment provides up to two scholarships per
year for undergraduate or graduate students pursuing
a career in the Fine Arts. To be eligible, applicants must
have a history of volunteering, or participating in some
program sponsored by the Fort Peck Fine Arts Council,
and they must be at least a full time undergraduate at an
accredited university with at least a 2.50 GPA. Priority
will be given to undergraduate applicants. Visit
