Tuesday night they beat Sidney.
“Sidney, they’re a veteran team and strong and physical.
They are well coached,” said Graham. “And it’s always tough
to go to Wolf Point and win. It was a big one for the girls
also.”
Graham can put any of her seven players on the floor
and they all step up and contribute.
“They really accept their roles well,” Graham said.
“Everybody works really hard when they play and at practice.
They all work together as a team.”
Mayzie Yoakam came out on fire in the Rocky Boy
game.
The freshman drained five 3-pointers in the first half.
She scored 23 of her 28 points in the first half.
“She’s been scoring well for us,” said Graham.
The Scotties broke away in the second period for a 35-
11 lead at the half. They had the game well in hand with a
47-16 edge going into the fourth period.
Yoakam was the only player on both sides of the ball to
score in double digits. Gina Page and Hayden Green added
six points each, Joely Chappell had five, Paityn Britzman
and Kyndal ASchraner four each, and Macy Martin two.
Britzman had nine rebounds.
Chappell had the hot hand against Wolf Point. The
sophomore tallied 20 points.
“Joely really stepped up for us offensively,” said Graham.
“She leads us in rebounds a lot.”
Chappell scored the first two buckets as the Scotties led
14-5. The Wolves hung around, trailing 27-14 at the break.
Chappell completed a four-point play for a 25-13 lead. But
the Scotties cruised to a 44-26 after three quarters.
Following Chappell in scoring was Yoakam with
17 points. Green had six points, Page five, Britzman four,
Martin and Tanae Baker two each. Chappell (3), Yoakam
and Page had three-pointers.

‘Lobbyists’ What
good are they?

Examples go way back to the
1600’s but in American history,
the term lobbyist truly became
popular during President Ulysses
Grant’s term in Washington DC
from 1869 to 1877.
You see, President Grant, at
the end of a busy day, would walk
over to the Willard Hotel to sit
quietly in a comfortable leather
chair and smoke a good cigar and
have a glass of brandy or two.
Well, it didn’t take long before
people realized the pattern and
would meander into the hotel to
bend the President’s ear on their
special interests.
Advocates visited the lobby
of the Willard Hotel because they
thought they could influence the
President while he was in a good
mood.
After awhile, Grant coined the
phrase “lobbyist” because they met
in the lobby of the hotel and it is
said that he would complain about
his peace and quiet being disrupted
by those “damn lobbyists!”
The practice of lobbying
increased significantly after the
Civil War and has increased ever
since!
When we lived in Hawaii
in the Boating community, we Ulysses S. Grant (born Hiram Ulysses Grant;[b] April 27, 1822 – July 23,
