Tribute to
Melford Arrotta
February 18, 1926 – December 28, 2023

I worked with Melford at


Tampico for a couple of years in the
mid-60s. To me, he was not merely
a man. He epitomized Jesus Christ
in the flesh. My name is Paul Scott,
and this is who Melford was for me.
My thoughts on Melford are best
expressed in Matthew 25:36:
I needed clothes, and you clothed
me; I was sick, and you looked after
me; I was in prison, and you came to
visit me.
That is exactly what happened
– my mother died on a family
camping trip in the summer of 1962,
and our home life was in shambles. In the mid 1960s, while Melford Arrotta was the foreman on the Etchart

What is the SAIL program?

SAIL (Stay Active & Independent for Life) is a 12-week falls prevention fitness program that focuses on
strength, balance, and mobility – which reduces the risk of falls and improves overall quality of life.

Schedule & Location: FREE SAIL Fitness Classes Include:


• 12 week program - begins Tuesday, February 6 • Balance, strength, and stretching exercises
• Every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am - 11am • Exercises can be done sitting or standing
• Glasgow Senior Center - Suited for all fitness levels
• Fitness checks are done in the first class and
FREE Registration: at 12 weeks to track your progress
• Tuesday, January 30 from 10am - 11am
• Fitness checks include:
• Glasgow Senior Center
- 8-Foot Timed Up and Go
- OR Call FMDH EMS at (406) 228-3468
- Bicep Curls

• Reduce risks of falling
Who Can Attend SAIL Fitness Classes?
• Improve balance, mobility, and leg strength – • Any older adult
all known risk factors for falls • Has fallen in the past year or is fearful of falling
• Maintain independence by building strength, • Looking to add exercise to their routine
improving balance, and agility
