win at all costs. It may work in litigation but does
not work well when governing our nation. Trying to
win, at any costs, creates the polarization and hatred
that now fills our country and leaves no room for
common sense or legitimate debate.
So, we got to thinking about the Gubberment
and decided to actually see just how many lawyers
there are or were in the U.S. Government history.

Since the year 1984, every Democrat presidential
nominee went to law school, although Gore did not
graduate.
Joe Biden, (no surprise), was at the bottom of
his class. His big claim to fame was defending a lowly
cow thief, but he did have success and got him off !

These are among the projects proposed for the 2024 Off-
Highway Vehicle (OHV) grant program. Montana Fish,
Wildlife & Parks is seeking public comment on these
proposals. Comments will be accepted through Friday,
May 24, at 5 p.m.
The OHV program received 12 grant requests
and proposes to award $500,000. The program receives
funding through OHV/motorbike registrations, gas
tax and the Summer Motorized Trail Pass revenues.
Montana’s Off-Highway Vehicle Program supports
projects such as trail maintenance, signs, trail stewards,
ethics education, noxious weed control, safety and
mapping efforts. Grant awards are distributed by FWP
with recommendations from the citizen-based Off-
Highway Vehicle Advisory Committee (OHVAC).
The public is invited to comment on the funding
requests. To submit comments online and see a summary
list of the 2024 OHV grant application funding requests,
visit fwp.mt.gov/aboutfwp/grant-programs/off-highway-vehicle.
The public can also email comments to fwpohv@
mt.gov or send them to Montana FWP, Attn: Seth

“That’s what we had changed this year. It’s hard
on the distance runners to run three races in one day,”
said Yoakam. “It helps us to be in better shape going
into the state meet.”
Yoakam felt that the Fairview boys will be the Scotties
competition.
“They had a couple injuries that will be back,” he said.
It depends on where they put their kids.”
Malta may be the Scotties competition on the girls’
side.
“Malta has some good throwers,” Yoakam said.
Glasgow got a feel of the track in Wolf Point on Friday
at the Gene Nelson Memorial Meet. The Scotties won
the boys title with 91.5 points and the girls finished
behind Scobey in the girls meet, 139-98.
“The weather wasn’t the best that day, said Yoakam.
“The wind was blowing in the wrong direction. We
just had kids do one or two events. It was a prep meet
for the district meet.”
