Statement of Congresswoman Jean Schmidt endorsing Rob Portman for the U.S.
Senate:

“Rob Portman is a dedicated public servant who has worked selflessly and
diligently for the people of Ohio and the United States. Rob served the people of Ohio for
twelve years as our representative where he fought to over-haul an antiquated tax code.
As the United States Trade Representative he fought to make sure that U.S. companies
are treated fairly in the global economy. And as the Director of the Office of
Management and Budget, Rob worked to make sure the operations of the federal
government functioned seamlessly.

That is why I am proud to be one of the first members of Congress to endorse Rob
Portman as our next U.S. Senator. I know as a U.S. Senator, Rob will be a strong voice
for Ohio’s working families. Rob’s experience truly makes him the best candidate to
replace Senator Voinovich and to represent the common-sense values of Ohio in the
