Reliance BIGFlix is the largest online and offline video rental service in India. It is a part of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group and endeavours to cater to all age groups in the home entertainment segment. BIGFlix library carries videos of TV shows and movies across many languages and genres. It focuses on providing convenient and simple user experience in the form of ratings, recommendations and methodical online catalogues to choose from and order titles. They also focus on providing easy access to their video library through free delivery and pick-up service managed via on-ground stores, call centres, website and SMS service.

Tracking development work, requirements management and interaction with vendors & other stakeholders was a challenge.

Business Challenges
BIGFlix was looking to improve its operational efficiency across many spheres of their business. With the expansion of business it was imperative to track work progress at various levels and functions. They were facing challenges of tracking development work, requirements management and communicating with the vendors and other stakeholders. A complete collaborative and project management solution would have eased out the hurdles, but keeping the bottom line low was a priority. Hence BIGFlix was strategically scouting for a solution with SaaS model. With expanding projects higher information flow and exchange of data across teams was inevitable. BIGFlix wanted to strategically keep cost controls in place without compromising on the data security. If they implemented a hosted collaborative solution, then they preferred that there should be a mechanism to maintain back-ups of the archives as well. Hence it was necessary to have a hosted collaborative solution which ensured that wikis are also stored in SVN secured back-up. It was also necessary that the time tracker and milestone tracker were available at a birds-eye-view on the dashboard.

One of the biggest benefits has been the improved project communication. While managing multiple projects, email notifications are sent for the messages that the project manager writes to select recipients from BootStrapToday dashboard. Custom role and permissions allowed BIGFlix to get their vendors and other extended teams involved around projects, thereby improving communication and reducing iterations. Wikis and tickets stored in SVN made it feasible to maintain back-up of the entire project data. Since BootStrapToday is available as SaaS, it ensures that each account data generated is stored as separate database. It eliminates accidental exposure of data from one account to another. This ensured data security to BIGFlix. Implementing BootStrapToday increased transparency in their system. Its systematic approach reduced the iterations and increased the productivity, not to mention that because of being a hosted application, it was available at half the price with all the necessary features.
