SACRAMENTS OF HEALING

THIRD UNIT GRADE 6

The Two Sacraments of Healing

OReconciliation and

Anointing of the Sick

Going Back to Jesus Ministry

O An important part of

Jesus ministry was His call to repentance and reconciliation, and His compassionate acts of Healing. (CFC 1760).

Jesus, Himself, began His ministry when He called for repentance and faith in the Gospel. (Mark 1:15)

His Parables speak ABOUT forgiveness.

Moreover, Jesus showed special concern to those who were sick and dying.

He even proclaimed and fulfilled in His ministry what he said: the blind see, cripples walk, lepers are cured, the deaf hear, dead mean are raised to life. (Mt 11:5).

Knowing that humans continue to experience sickness and sin, Jesus gave Peter and his apostles the power to continue His ministry of forgiveness and healing in the Church.

As Christians then, the reality that we should see is not human suffering and sin, but Gods healing and forgiveness.
