Production
Pre Production: Directed by Joe Wright(Atonement, Pride & Prejudice,) , an adaptation of the period drama novel written by the famous Russian Leo Tolstoy. Screenplay by Tom Stoppard Single production company being Working Title Films Well recognised, A list cats including Jude Law, Aaron Taylor Johnson and Keira Knightley. The budget for Anna Karenina was 31million. Stoppards script jumped all over the place from locations such as Moscow to remote villages. With a total of 246 scenes, some being set in diverse locations like an ice rink and an opera house (stage) . The producers were tearing their hair out, saying 'We cant afford this! We cant afford this! Production shooting: Famous locations such as Shepperton Studios, Oxfordshire, Surrey and Russia. The location of Russia particularly sold the country with snowy, romantic landscapes, resembling a fairy tale. This fairy tale theme carried on through with such props as a doll house, toy blocks and the all important, majestic theatre.

Exhibition
Anna Karenina is shown in well known, high chain cinema companies such as Odeon and Vue. The films weekend gross was a supposed 870 702, whilst being shown in 496 cinemas. It reached 3rd in the weekend gross (7th to 9th September) behind Lawless and Dredd. At present, the film is shown in 133 cinemas. According to filmdates.co.uk, the last showing is Thursday 25th October 2012 (last updated 6th October 2012) Supposed DVD and Blu-ray release date (UK) is Feb/March 2013
