EXT. DIRT ROAD - NIGHT A thickly wooded area, in which the road is barely visible. This is in part due to the darkness, while also due to the thick overgrowth around it. A car drives in, and pulls over to the side of the road to park. INT. CAR - NIGHT C.J. is sitting in the drivers seat gripping the wheel. He is a young man with a stocky build. JOHNNY is sitting in the passengers seat. He is very thin, and his knees are up against the dashboard of the car. Johnny unbuckles his seat belt and opens his door. JOHNNY O.K. lets get this over with. Johnny gets out of the car and slams the door shut behind him. EXT. DIRT ROAD - NIGHT Johnny starts to walk away from the car, then stops. He turns back to the car and stares at it. He starts wave his hands gesturing towards himself. JOHNNY Come on. Johnny continues to beckon at the car. He sighs and stamps over to it. He walks over to the drivers side of the car and knocks on the window. INT. CAR - NIGHT C.J. stares forward as he slowly moves his thumb onto the controls that are on the steering wheel. He presses one of the buttons and the window starts to role down. C.J. Huh? JOHNNY What are you doing?

C.J. I dont want to go in. EXT. DIRT ROAD - NIGHT Johnny is leaning on the window sill of the cars drivers side. JOHNNY Well, ya I can see that. INT. CAR - NIGHT C.J. suddenly punches the steering wheel and turns to face Johnny. C.J. Im serious Johnny, I dont fucking want to go in there. Johnny, leaning into the car drops his head down and runs his hands through hair. JOHNNY No shit. Its not like I thrilled at the prospect either. Johnny moves away from from the window of the car. EXT. DIRT ROAD - NIGHT Johnny holds the top of his head with both hands, fingers laced. He takes several strides away from the car and looks around. C.J. Then why are we doing this? Johnny whips around to face the car and jabs a finger in its direction. JOHNNY Because you fucking said we would moron.Because you had to run your mouth about how brave you were and bullshit. Johnny comes back to the car and slams both palms onto the roof of it.

INT. CAR - NIGHT C.J. looks down at his hand on his lap as Johnny leans into the car. JOHNNY ...and because I said I would go with you. Because Im a good friend and I knew you wouldnt if you didnt have someone there to kick your ass in the right direction. C.J. opens and closes his hands a few times. C.J. But... JOHNNY No buts. We said wed do this, so were going to do this. Period. C.J. clenches his hands in to fists, then looks up out the front windshield. C.J. Fine...fine. O.K. Lets go. EXT. DIRT ROAD - NIGHT Johnny backs away with his arms out. JOHNNY Thats what I thought. The drivers car door opens and C.J. step out. He turns around and slams the car door shut with two arms. The sound echos through the woods. JOHNNY Jesus Christ dude. C.J. stomps past Johnny slouching. C.J. Fuck you. Johnny turns and follows behind him with an exaggerated scowl, waving his arms around in a mocking manner. JOHNNY Oh now your going to be all pissy, is that it?

C.J says nothing as he continues to stomp into the woods. Johnny follows. EXT. HOUSE - NIGHT C.J. and Johnny reach the front yard of a small cottage covered in burn marks. C.J. rushes forward fist clenched. C.J. Come on. Johnny skips to catch up. JOHNNY Alright. Jesus, slow down. They both enter the cottage. INT. COTTAGE - NIGHT C.J. and Johnny enter into the dark house and begin to look around. C.J. turns back to Johnny and through his hands up. C.J. So now what? Johnny walks past C.J. holding his chin. JOHNNY I guess we should grab something, you know to show we were here. C.J turns away to look around the room. He points to an old rocking chair. C.J. What about this? Johnny turns to look and snorts. JOHNNY If you want to carry that back to the car yourself. Johnny turns away again. He walk over to a bookshelf. It is entirely empty except for one book at eye level.

JOHNNY Ah. This is perfect. Johnny picks up the book an opens it. C.J. turns towards Johnny. C.J. What is it? JOHNNY It looks like a journal or something. The rocking chair starts to rock back and fourth. Both of the boys turn to face it. JOHNNY Will you stop dicking around with that chair already. C.J. It wasnt JOHNNY Whatever. We got what we needed lets go. Johnny turn away and walk out the door, leaving the cottage. C.J. stares at the chair and slowly walks out the door. INT. CAR - NIGHT The front doors of the car open. C.J. sits down in the drivers seat. Johnny slumps into the passenger side, leaning back and pressing his knees over the dash board, and closes his door. C.J. Im serious. I never touched that chair. JOHNNY I really dont care. That just means all the more reason to get the hell out of here. C.J. leans out to grab the handle of the door and slams it shut, then buckles his seat belt. C.J. Ya, OK.

EXT. DIRT ROAD - NIGHT The car backs up and turns to be perpendicular to the road, then drives forward and turns till its leaving from the direction it came. After the cars gone, a russel of leaves can be heard with the snapping of twigs. Then a series of shoe prints appear in the mud, one after the other. These prints turn in the direction that the car left by.
