Date: 10/9/2012 12:31 PM Subject: Newhallville-Achievement First October 9th, 2012 Dear Ms. Murphy, We write to extend a letter of support regarding the construction of the Achievement First-Amistad High School. We send this letter on this date, acknowledging the pressure of state deadlines that regulate this project, though we have not settled all matters with Achievement First (AF). After a series of meeting with AF, we have worked through the conceptual framework of a Community Benefits Agreement. Both of us come to the table as partners in negotiation and we trust that AF will continue to come to the table in good faith. Ultimately this project is about providing a safe, inclusive,

and rewarding educational experience for the children of New Haven. We keep that as the utmost priority in our further conversations as we continue to address issues of economic development, jobs, community access and other topics of concern to the residents of our ward and the city as a whole. Sincerely, in service, Alderwoman Brenda Foskey-Cyrus, Ward 21 Alderwoman Delphine Clyburn, Ward 20 -Alderwoman Brenda Foskey-Cyrus Ward 21 (203) 508-3829
