Parent/Teacher Conferences
This year, our Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held at mid-term during the 3rd Quarter. The date for these conferences will be on Tuesday, February 5th from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and February 7th from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Remember that there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, February 8th.

PRESIDENTS DAY
IS MONDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH. THERE IS NO SCHOOL THAT DAY FOR STUDENTS OR TEACHERS.

Information on classroom Valentines Day parties will be sent home by your childs teacher.

Story Laboratory: Reading Gives You Super Power!

Dear Parents and Families, Reading is the most important skill you can teach a child. Of all the skills children learn, it is the one you can influence the most. We invite you to visit our Scholastic Book Fair and experience a celebration of reading that provides families the opportunity to get involved in a universal mission: encouraging kids to read every day so that they cam lead better lives. Our Scholastic Book Fair theme - Story Laboratory: Reading Gives You Super Power! - is part of an incredible energy source for reading that brings to our school a wonderful selection of fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to read. You are invited to visit our book fair with your child or anytime the book fair is open. It will be Feb. 4, 6 & 7 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. If you wish to pay for your purchases by check, please make it out to SCSD #9. We ask that you dont send large sums of cash with your child to avoid any problems. We would love to have volunteers come help us set up and pack up the book fair. We will begin setting up at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1 and will begin packing up the book fair on Thursday, Feb. 7 after 4:00 p.m. More information and a book list will be sent home with your child. We hope to see many of you at our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair!!!

EXCUSE ABSENCES
Please call the office if your student will not be in school that day. We would also appreciate a written excuse when your child returns after an absence. Our office may give you a call if you did not contact us to be sure you know if your child is not in school. Mandatory school attendance laws require us to track excused versus unexcused absences. We appreciate your help on this matter!

There will be NO SCHOOL on February 25th.

Please remember to turn in BOX TOPS to your teacher or the office.
