Objective of the study :- To develop a method to identify a dental arch form from graphical evaluation in the Garhwal population.

Materials and methods :- A graphical method was used to evaluate the dental arch forms of 60 models (30 males/30 females) of Garhwal population in the permanent dentition with normal occlusion. Selection Criteria:1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Class I molar and canine relationship with normal occlusal interdigitation. Complete permanent dentition with all teeth in occlusion, except for the 3rd molars. Normal overjet and overbite (about 2mm -4 mm) Minimal crowding (< 2mm) and spacing (<1 mm) No previous orthodontic or prosthodontic treatment. In addition, subjects with proximal caries or fillings that affected tooth size and shape, gross restorations, significant attrition ,congenital defects and deformed teeth were excluded. 6. Midline should be matched. Steps 1. Draw the points corresponding to the centres of clinical crown on an OHP Sheet. 2. Draw the points corresponding to the contact points between two tooth and join all these points to form individualized arch form for that model. 3. Keep the OHP Sheet over a graph paper and make the set of co ordinates in X and Y axis for that individual archform. 4. Take the average coordinates for required number of studymodels which will give us the coordinates of the average archform prevalent in the Garhwali population.
